LinkMasters
Hello  I was wondering how to change clothing items into actual armor. I DL'ed Rogue Mage and Scoundrel outfits and i reeeeeeally love the outfits, it just dissapoints me that it isn't made into armor :( Well, at least the Scoundrel outfit, cuz it actually looks like some form of armor. I went thru the CS and tried to edit it but that doesn't get me anywhere. is this even possible?
LinkMasters
Ok, so I've been able to make the .nif's and icons and such in the "Armor" section, at least started to but I've hit a snag. How do I link the armor to a User?
dlcooper
Hi, If you made a new item (new formid) in the armor section and made the clothes into armor, you can't link it directly to your character. One way is to pick a location and just drop it on the ground in that location. Then you'd just have to go there and pick it up. Doug
LinkMasters
Could you give a few pointers on how to do that? I'm almost done with converting it into armor. I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to using CS. Edit: Sorry, I read thru your post too fast. No, what I meant to linking is how to link it to the same area as the clothing is used. in this case, the clothing is using a container right outside the sewer exits on a boat (Inside a chest). What i want to do is put the converted armor INTO that chest.
dlcooper
Hi, Just linking it into the chest isn't that hard. Just find out the id of the chest. If it's just outside the sewers then I think it's coordinates 7,19 in the tamriel worldspace. I think it's listed as IC Sewer North. Just open that up and it shoud appear in the render window. You should see the chest in the cell view window. Find the same chest in the container section of the object window and double click to open it. A window should open up. You'll see a list of stuff that's in the chest. Just leave that window open on screen and open up the armor section of the object window and find whatever you're putting in the chest and just left click and drag and drop it onto the chest window. You should see it appear in the section of the chest window that shows the chest contents. It should be in the chest when you go into the game. LinkMasters
ALRIGHTYYYY. I have found the chest, but when I DblClk it, a Reference window pops up, but shows nothing of what you say; Here are the tabs it has: 3D Data, Enable Parent, Ownership, Lock. Edit: I FOUND IT!!! ^_^ I had to go through the Object Window to find it. But thanks so much! You lead me in the right direction and the right kind of thinking :)
