LE Uploads on SK without permission

I have noticed that there has been a few uploads on SW that doesnt have the permission from the original author (some dont even offer proper credit), so my tip for you others is to check it out if you have become victim to this, and in that case report it. Of course, steams "report" button doesnt let you say why you want to report it, so it might take a while to get them to act if at all (i doubt that they always check the other mother sites to see if it was ripped from there just because someone hit the report button...). Thats why I fought we would help eachother out by linking to any such mod here, and then we all can hit the report button. Hopefully steam's staff will react if there are hundreds of people reporting the same mod and look into it a bit closer.

Doesnt exactly help that the report button doesnt let you write why you want to report it either, I take it. Even if steam's support does look at it they might not understand what is wrong with the mod unless they find those user comments you talked about (and what would happen if those users didnt admit that you are the real author at all?).

 

Want to tell us which 2 mods it is that stole your work? Maybe it will help if we all try to hit that report button. HOPEFULLY their staff will understand that something is wrong if hundreds of people report the same mod.

 

Yeah, the Report functionality on Steam is so vague as to be useless. I've raised a ticket with Steam support so I guess I'll just have to wait for them to get round to looking into it.

 

On a lighter note, I just successfully talked one of the guys into taking my mod down and he's agreed to remove it. Thankfully this was the the more important of the two (for me at least), so I feel enraged than I did earlier.

 

Of course, this joker hasn't replied to any of my messages yet (despite being online all day) ,so if you guys want to head over to Steam and dispense some Report Flag justice, I would be very grateful :)

 

EDIT: And yes, I know that my mod uses armor models ported from The Witcher 2, but these are legal according to the Witcher devs, in case you didn't know. They gave permission and everything (what a concept!)
