Problems with search and advanced search on FO4 mod files page.

Every time I do a search for a specific mod it never shows up in the search results. I end up just searching for mods through Google search and it always brings me back to Nexus Mods and there it is. Same thing with advanced search. An example is I wanted to find the Videos of the Wasteland mod so I typed "videos" and it doesn't show up. Even if I spell it word for word in the search box it doesn't show up. Some other Behavior file mod shows up but the actual mod doesn't. Search it on Google and there it is. It's been this way for a long time on lots of different mods and I figured I would let you know. I tried to upload the Google search as well but the file was too big but needless to say the VOTW mod here at Nexus Mods is first on the list.

You are correct, a number of mods don't show up when you enter the mod name in a search - such as VotW. No idea why.

Best alternative is to enter the mod author's name, usually yields results; although I'm aware that many users won't know or remember a mod authors name.

btw, this thread should be in the Feedback, suggestions and questions thread over here. Admins, could you possibly move it?

I've never blocked any tags but I guess some were checked automatically because I cleared them and the problem was solved. Thanks for the help damanding.

Every time I had this issue it was because the mod used a tag I blocked. I finally got annoyed and just stopped blocking tags.

I came here because I was about to post this exact same problem. If I type in "Do it Yourshelf" in the search box I get no results found. If I Google it, the first link is to the correct page on nexus mods. This is just one example. In the case of Do it Yourshelf the author's name is: dinozaurz and if I click in the box that says author's name, cut and paste it, and click search I get 1 result for "Creative Clutter for Modders" . No mention at all of the mod that they authored which has close to a quarter million downloads!

I looked at the blocked tags and there were a couple that were blocked. I don't remember doing it but once I cleared all tags then it works good. Thank you for this! I was getting very upset trying to find things that I knew I had previously downloaded.

.. ya, I'll go with ALL the above posts. Mod search is a bit of a P.I.T.A.

Also their ' text search ' in Forums and such is not the best either.

.. Jj ...
