Question: What is the Nexus policy regarding giveaways?

Hey everyone,

 

so as the title of the thread states, I'm wondering whether the Nexus allows giveaways and if so, what are the rules regarding it?

 

In order to better answer this question (if the answer is yes), please continue reading my interest in holding a giveaway.

 

I am interested in holding a giveaway mostly for the Fallout 4 Nexus community but open to anyone of course. I want to give people a chance in getting cool stuff that I may not need anymore. Such as my GTX 970 graphics card or a 240 SSD or a 500 GB HDD.

 

In terms of the giveaway there really isn't much to it. I was thinking of having a cool and fun contest.

 

For example: In order to enter the giveaway you must send me a screenshot your best character creation of a singer from Baby Metal in Fallout 4.

 

^^^ Something along those lines.

 

I won't be requiring any likes, or follows, or subscriptions, or none of that bullshit other people ask for. Just send me a fun photo and the best one gets the prize. Of course all of this would be done through the Nexus and people will have to be comfortable with giving me their address and stuff.

 

 

TL;DR: Can I hold a fun giveaway/contest thing on the Nexus? Will not be asking for likes, follows, subscriptions, etc etc.

Sounds fun! We'll be comfortable with it so long as you: promote it responsibly, handle all personal details privately, make it clear that you're running the contest independently, and as you mentioned, have no eligibility requirements that may be considered abusive or exclusionary. This means that the contest information should be displayed somewhere arbitrary, like here on the forums, rather than a file description which could inflate it's stats as well. That said, I'm eager to know more details, so feel free to PM me if you'd like.

So I'll have to post it in an area that won't artificially give me stats? Hmm I think in that case my only option would be here in the forums. I was also thinking of making a post in the image section of Fallout 4 but actually that may inflate stats as well.

 

However, I'm glad to know this is possible so whenever this idea does actually take off I'll probably make a forum post then!
