Adding an item on Plugin load

I am searching for a way of adding an Item to the players inventory as soon as the plugin first loads.

 

I think in Oblivion one would add a Quest that would in turn add that item and instantly finish, but I kinda fail on that too..

 

So do I even need to use the workaround with the quest or is there an even simpler solution, like a little checkbox hidden somewhere I never looked, which simply says "add to player inventory" :)

 

Alas, I dont know how to simply add a quest to the player´s active quests. If I had that knowledge, i could at least simply fire some papyrus scripts, as I am unaware of any other means to simply use papyrus script without it being part of any item, actor or whatnot.. ofc. one could say in the mod description "you have to go to xxx in xxx and ask him about the quest", but that simply doesnt seem right ;)
