Skyrim CTD constantly after making 3D tree LODs with DynDOLOD

I recently discovered and installed DynDOLOD. It's a fantastic piece of kit if not a little time consuming to get set up. I'm using it in combination with the Enhanced Landscapes and Enhanced Vanilla Trees mods (the first one is a dependant, and the other is fully compatible). It all worked perfectly until I tried to use Dyn to generate 3D tree LODs (EVT supports this feature - for all its tree models). It worked, and it looks amazing, but now my game won't run for five minutes without crashing to desktop. It just closes instantly without warning, and gives no error.

 

I'm running around 90 mods in total. I have had CTDs before, but they went away when I uninstalled the Skyrim Distance Overhaul.

 

I have tried using all sorts of crash and memory fixes such as SSME, SKSE.ini, Crash Fixes and Safety Load.

 

I know the solution seems obvious - stop using 3D tree LODs. But they look so damn good that I don't want to go back to the old 2D ones without at least trying to fix the problem.
