shockwavegt
This has been an issue with Illia since the beginning of the game, she's a great follower but for some reason when you dismiss her she doesn't allow herself to be rehired as a follower... In addition, she's not part of the marriage faction. Now with console commands you can fix that but I was looking for something more permanent and I was hoping there would be a willing modder to give this a shot and fix Illia once and for all. shockwavegt
Is there the possibility that this bug can be fixed at all?! Edited February 17, 2012 by shockwavegt
Skoobah
I've been trying to figure out how to fix Illia for a while now. Haven't been able to do it. I thought the problem was that Illia unlike most follower npcs is based upon a template for generic characters. This prevents her relationship status from being saved between save loads. So I rebuilt Illia as her own separate character (including all her spells and AI files, I removed her clothes so she actually wears mage clothes you give her). But that hasn't fixed her. All I've done is make it so when you dismiss her, the dialogue gets stuck so if you talk to her again, the dialogue choices are the same as if she was still a follower. My current thinking is there is something wrong in one of her AI packages or the quest data that is preventing the proper follower dismiss/recruit logic to work. But it's way beyond my capabilities to figure out how to fix it.
