Codifer
Willow, It might take a bit of searching for the best site from which to download 7 Zip. Many will try to force you into downloading a pile of ...um... stuff that you probably do not want. Once you find a good site, download the file that is correct for your operating system XP, Vista or Windows 7 32 or 64 bit. After unpacking the 7 Zip rar, run the installer and you should be set to go. Once installed, it is easy to right click on the desired mod's 7 Zip rar and choose to extract files. Hope this helps.. LittleWillow
I downloaded one from 7-zip.org, I believe, for Windows 7, 64 bit. Now how the heck do I use it? I have the mod file sitting in my downloads folder and I can't figure out what to do from there.
Codifer
Assuming that you have run the 7 Zip install and are good to go there, right click on the mod file that you wish to install. You should see an option for for 7 Zip, open that and see "Extract Here" or "Extract" with an address option. The default destination (I believe) is the same folder as the mod's rar. Use that (tell it to extract) and you should see either the file that you might place in your My Documents Dragon Age override file or a DA zip that you can install with the Dragon Age updater or DA Mod Manager. FallOfTheRavenMaster
I believe that the reason Better Sex Cutscenes didn't work for you properly is because it uses models from mods like Natural Bodies or Realistic Look. If you don't have either of those mods downloaded, BSC tends not to work correctly. Judging from your previous posts, you'll probably want more detailed descriptions on how to use those? They're a little tricky but if you're interested I'll walk you through it as much as possible. Also with both mods you have various options that you can choose from. I suggest looking at the pictures carefully to decided which models you want and I'll tell you how to download them. From there I'll go over how to get BSC to work for you. Codifer
Actually, Better Sex Cutscenes will work with the vanilla "granny" undies. Natural Bodies and Realistic look just adds more.... realism. Be sure, Willow, to add just ONE of the cutscene sets (Mild, Medium or Zesty). Should be no problem. If you choose to use Natural Bodies or Realistic Look, it might be wise to explore DA Mod Manager which will allow you to use "Natural Bodies All in One" and "Nude Variety". These are a bit complex to set up (first time) but will make changing the "look" of your characters very easy. Cheers Edit to add: NBAiO and NV4 really only seemed daunting to set up when I first looked at them. Following the instruction steps carefully should result in satisfactory installation. Read the mod installation guides and read the comments carefully and you should have no problem. Be aware, however, that installation of NV4 will cause some changes to certain aspects of gameplay in Redcliff.... I don't know why. For me it is worth it, your mileage may vary. FallOfTheRavenMaster
True you don't NEED them, like Codifer said, but it does make things infinitely better. Especially if you intend to use Medium or Zetsy, seeing granny undies during such a scene just really throws things off grove. -lol-
LittleWillow
Gotta agree about the undies... lol. Okay... so, let's say I want to use the "zesty" BSC mod, as well as Natural Bodies All In One and Nude Variety. Now, I have DAModder... but I also need DAO-ModManager? I just tried downloading it and the DAModder popped up when I tried opening it. FallOfTheRavenMaster, I would very much appreciate a walkthrough for all this. As I said in the original post, the more I read and try to learn, the more confused I get. Codifer
I do not have DA Modder so I cannot speak to that. I very much like DA Mod Manager and have found it easy to use and my research has indicated that it is more problem free than DA Modder. You could try removing DA Modder and then try installing DA Mod Manager. That process can be reversed if necessary. I cannot say why both could not be installed but I assume that there is a reason or three. With NBaio installed and accessed through DAMM (Mod Manager) you will be able to configure each race and gender so that special textures, body types (muscular, lean, voluptuous etc) and levels of... um... "attention" can be unique to each. NV4 will further that level of configuration to include ALL members of your party, as well as certain NPCs not in your party (Jowan and Lilly, for example) will have their own individual look. For example; as I have configured NV4, Leliana is a (Fashion Model) slim "A" cup while Morrigan is emphatically not and (because I think he be a twit) Allister needs a large jar of blue pills. Sten laughs at him. Lilly is pregnant. Raven Master can help you with this (took me a while to figure it out). As a caution, I would only add that I have found a role reversal regarding the human female interaction with an elven male so I do not include both Warrior and Rogue options in NV4. If you need help in the initial set up of NBaio and NV4, let me know. Cheers, Hope this helps.
Thandal
I, too, use DAMM, rather than DAM. It's the only way to take advantage of .override mods, and I use a couple. Used to use NV4, but got tired of the endless opportunities for fiddling about that it presented, and remembering to go through all the proper steps when uninstalling it was even more hassle!
FallOfTheRavenMaster
*rubs hands together* Alrighty then. I shall now proceed with step by step instrutions on how to upload BSC manually. Natural Bodies has to be downloaded with DAO ModManager, you cannot use DAModder to upload it. You can get DAO ModManager here: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=277. There is even a file in the Misc. section of this download that gives you an example of the override config for Natural Bodies so you can compare. Step one is to download all mods you would like to use. This would be BSC Zesty and Natural Bodies All In One 3_0. Once the mods have downloaded you're going to open My Downloads (or where ever you downloaded the mods) and extract the files. You'll need 7zip to do this, right click on the zip files and click the option Extract Here. To upload BSC Zesty you're going to double click on the folder packages that should now be in your Download folder, and keep double clicking on the folders until you get to Luchaire. It should be packages/core/override/Luchaire. You're going to copy the entire Luchaire folder, just right click on the folder name Luchaire, and select copy. You're then going to open My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/packages/core/override. And in the override folder just right click and select paste. The Luchaire folder should now be in there. BSC Zesty should now work in Dragon Age. To upload Natural Bodies All in One... You're going to go back to your Download folder and you'll unzip Natural Bodies like you did with BSC. Assuming that you now have DAO ModManager on your system, you are going to open DAO ModManager (the .exe file). Select NBaio.override from the Download folder and drag the file into the upper right column of DAO Modmanager. It'll ask if you want to install this mod and click yes. You then right click on the Natural Bodies in the middle column and go to Config where you can use click on the body types. Drop down arrows will appear to allow you to config the characters' looks to what you perfer. Once that's done then everything should be set up now. If you have anymore trouble let me know.
