Skifer
Hey guy's. I'm having some big problems with oblivion, i wanted to try some mods a long time ago like Dark UI but it didn't work so i had to reinstall oblivion and try some other ones but one thing i noticed is that my old mods like (Dark UI) were still working even though i uninstalled oblivion because Dark ui wouldn't work with widescreens. So How do i completely reset oblivion so there is no mods just the normal oblivion and then can you guys walk me through in installing these mods please here are the mods and where i downloaded them from. AF Level MOD: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3244 Beautiful people: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5175 Darnified BTmod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7830 Deadly reflex: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8273 Natural environments: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2536 No psychic guards: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11911 Here is a quote that i shall answer to better help you with my problem what version of oblivion do you have, e.i. original Oblivion, or the GOTY edition. are you patching the game before installing the expansions, and have you tried the unofficial patches for TES and or any other site. If that doesnt work. Also are you using OBMM and OBSE. some mods require one or the other and sometimes both I have oblivion GOTY edition i am trying to patch before installing the mods, i do install the oblivion unofficial patch I'm not 100% sure what OBMM and OBSE is but when i tried to install BT mod a mod manager popped up and when i launched oblivion a command prompt came up with the letters OBSE.But either way i probably used it wrong. Thanks so much i appreciate help from anyone who gives it to me  aswell should i try this? http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=41082 even though i dont have a problem lauching the oblivion uninstaller? bben46
Uninstalling Oblivion doesn't completely uninstall everything. As you have recently found out. If you want to get rid of your old mods you need to get rid of your data folder. I recommend just renaming it BEFORE you uninstall. The original is in C:\program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\data. rename the \data folder to something else, like \oldata. The saved games are also preserved on a uninstall. do them the same way - they are in C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\my documents\my games\oblivion rename the Oblivion here to OldOblivion Then do the uninstall and reinstall. The original folder names will be recreated with the original game start content - not your old saves and mods. If you find you don't want to keep any of the old stuff, you can deleted just those folders \Oldoblivion and Oldata and keep the new ones.
