Fishtank
Well, to be honest, I don't mod much so I wouldn't know. However there are a few tutorials out there I can offer you: "Official" TutorialsNifSkope Tutorials at the TES Construction set wikiCSTutorials: Nifskope If that doesn't help much, you can open up a search engine and search up "NifSkope tutorials". Or you can PM me and I will help you find some. I will respond as soon as I can. I hope that helped, good luck with NifSkope!
Thanodai
Are you trying to edit the nif file in a 3D program like Blender or 3D Studio Max?

Thanodai
Whatever 3D modeling program you're using, you're going to need a nif script so the program can convert it from a nif file to the format that it uses. I use Blender, so after installing nifscript you have to import the file into Blender, you can't use the open command as it's not a format that Blender recognizes. In the case of 3D Studio Max, I really haven't got a clue. But you can get all the tools you'll need to use Blender here -T- Edit: I can't find any of my tutorials that I used when I was starting, but www.teseyecandy.com has a great tutorial on editing an existing mesh. You'll have to register though.
