spleenbegone
Thanks. :) It's ultra with the high res package. I'm not sure how much higher it could go. Edited February 13, 2012 by spleenbegone
thesapien
yes, more cowbell. edit/ps: we're silly spoiled around here with tweaks and shaders that make our games look better than what is acheivable using vanilla skyrim on ultra. thesapien
Mind suggesting some to me? I'm already using one for water, the night sky, and rain. You're talking textures and/or mods. Strictly speaking, we're referring to changing things that aren't permitted by vanilla Skyrim and aren't mods that can be created with a Creation Kit. To do these things, you must manually open up ini files and change settings to get better draw distances or, in the case of lighting, be willing to insert dll libraries in your Skyrim folder so you can add ambient occlusion, subsurface scattering, and adjust volumetric fog, day/night environment settings, etc. A good place to start for basic tweaks is:http://uk.geforce.com/optimise/guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better The above is focused on nVidia owners, but is still good beginning stuff. The really good stuff regarding lighting and environmental effects works for both nVidia and ATI, and now we're talking enbseries or ENB with Skyrim. Here, I'm not sure where to point you to begin. You can find profiles for it on Nexus. ENB also has its own author run website with lots of info. Then there are other forums with even more info. One thing I will say, if you have the hardware that can handle it, make sure you find a version (if using someone else's) that has ambient occlusion enabled or enable it yourself and adjust its settings to run well on your system. spleenbegone
Thanks for the information. I'll look into it. :)
Staind716
I personally use the Confident ENB mod natural version. It looks awesome and you can make any tweaks to it to suit your own tastes. ENB is definetly a performance hog but welll worth it. If you have any trouble running it on your pc just message me and I will be happy to share some tweak settings that will help you get more performance without losing quality. ENB is the one mod that I refuse to do without. Oh, and before I get bombarded with comments from people who like other mods this is IN MY OPINION. Shame ya gotta do that on here. Edited February 14, 2012 by Staind716
PsYchotic666Joker
The SKyrim 2K HD Textures overhaul is also very good. honestly...it's better than Bethesdas 'hd dlc' http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=607 here is a close up picture of bethesda's work vs the one i linked http://i.imgur.com/VG3Cs.jpg there is also some other mods out there that retexture the water and fire/smoke etc that add on to the game, very good to have, and the ENB series as the above poster has said
