Need some help with getting custom weapon meshes into the game

Hey, so I was working on my first mod, I have the thing modeled, textured, normal mapped, etc.

 

But I'm having a hell of a time getting it set up to get it into skyrim. .___.

 

I need some help, first time modder sort of help. :/ If someone could help me out I have ah... teamviewer, skype, etc.

 

 

 

Just suggestions on where to go now would be useful. I've tried following the steps to replacing meshes from:

 

 

But when I go to save it out (things looking decently though I think I might be not doing something right still) it says that something isn't linked right? I'm not sure exactly. :/

You need to be super careful with nifskope and make sure everything is set up just right. My workflow is that I double check everything, load skyrim: fail to load correctly, go back and triple check everything - load: FAIL - quadruple check - FAIL, re-export fresh from max redo all steps three times, throw some salt over the shoulder - and suddenly for no apparent reason I taste success.

 

That said, getting weapons into the game was pretty straight forward, from what I remember I just replaced the NiTriShape data of a vanilla file with my own and tweaked the shader properties in BSLightingShaderProperties to suit my needs.
