Exporting entire Buildings to 3D-Software

Hello Community,

I got a pretty unconventional question/problem. We are planning a Video-project for highschool and wanted to shoot some virtual scenes inside some of Skyrims lookations and add greenscreen footage after that. Im searching like 4 days now for some forum post or anything similar to our problems and cant get anything close

So here is the deal: Im planning to export lets say like a modded castle into my 3d-Software (Im currently using Cinema 4D, but can import/export to blender/3dsmax/autodesk etc.) so the goal is to get some kind of .obj out of the data. Currently, Im using nifscope together with the BSA-Browser to extract .obj mesh and .dss texture files and bring them togeter in my 3D-Software. So here comes the first big Problem. You can easily export something like a sword/helmet etc, put the texture on, done, BUT I cant find a way to export like an entire Castle because its not made out of a single .nif but contains like houndreds of them.

If there was enough time to export all these to .objs, texture them and so on, that would be ok, too but here comes the next problem, there is only one single model inisde these .nif files. So lets say my castle contains 8 Towers of the same model, then there is only one in the .nif and I cant figure out how Skyrim knows how and where to clone and show them ingame. So there is currently no way for me to readout the exact position on the map / inside my 3D-Software for each .obj.

I hope you understand my problem, Im from germany and not a native speaker ^^ I would be really grateful if you could tell me your experiences and recommendations for my project, feel free to aks me any detail about it if something is unclear.

Thank you in advance!

Check this mod: Cobb's blender tools

I have not tried them myself, not yet, as RL currently takes priority over my modding halas, but they cover just what you intent to do, if I followed you correctly. There seems to be a bit of preparatory work to do, but it would definitely alleviate the workload of such a project.
