Crash to Desktop on Startup

Hello there. :)

I just bought Skyrim - and it won't start. Here's what happens:

 

Start Skyrim Launcher

Hit Play

See Bethesda Logo

See Dragon, no main menu

Game Crashes to Desktop

No error message, no crash reports. Nothing.

 

I have no mods installed. All my drivers are up to date.

I also tried the soundfix, setting my speakers to 16 Bit, 48000 Hz. I disabled antialialising via game menu and via Nvidia System Control in the 3d Menu.

 

My system specs:

 

AMD Phenom II X4 944 @3,2GHz

NVidia GeForce GTX 275 (custom cooler)

4GB RAM

Running on Win7 64bit, SP 1

 

Any ideas? Need any additional info?

rofl, I fixed it. Just for those who have the same problem and might find their way here, this is why it didn't work.

 

I'm from Germany. My Steam was set to english, personal preferences and so on. Set it back to german, and Steam will start to download the files again. It will work then.
