Long Play (Real Time) Role-Playing Mod

I've just started over in Skyrim doing what I consider a Long-Play Role Playing Challenge and have been trying to find mods that will help bring this experience to life.

My own self-inflicted rules are:

  1. Only run if you have to (not run as in sprint. Run as in not walk).
  2. No Fast Travel.
  3. Can only carry up to 3 one-handed weapons and a bow or 1 one-handed, 1 two handed and a bow.
  4. Only boots and gloves to be looted from corpses and only one pair of each to be carried (worn doesn't count) at a time.
  5. Maximum of 3 books can be carried at once.
  6. Followers have the same carry rules as I do (see above).
  7. Time scale of 1.
  8. Crafting takes time. Wait after crafting, skinning or mining for an appropriate time.
  9. No potions in battle unless I could realistically down it without letting down my guard.
  10. Eat 3 meals a day minimum (snacking is allowed).
  11. It takes 8 hours to learn a new spell.

None of these rules have anything to do with making the games combat more difficult they are about forcing you to take your time in the world. Clearly not for everyone but I'm enjoying the slower pace.

Some mods that I am using with these rules include a movement speed mod that makes walking 15% faster and running 20% slower (I believe sprinting is unaffected) which makes you walk and run about as fast as most of the NPCs do and there is a big difference between walking and dawdling which Bethesda seem to have missed.

I'm using a realistic lighting mod so my dungeons are almost pitch black making torches useful (although they could do with lasting longer).

Now aside from wanting a mod that actually enforces the above rules (no idea how feasible some of them are but I know No Fast Travel exists already) I was hoping people could point me towards any mods that might do the following:

  • Horses can carry items (pack animals).
  • Wearable backpacks (neck slot perhaps?) - I love the backpack on the Roadstroker armor but would like to use it with any armor set.
  • Longer lasting potions - I preferred The Witchers approach to potions with them being something you can use to apply a buff before entering combat which lasted a while rather than being something you can spam from inventory in the middle of a fight.
  • Better bonuses from meals - Well Fed bonuses for example that last about 4 hours with Over-eating penalties if you stuff yourself with food.
  • Sleep Deprivation - Not slept in 2 days? You should start to feel the effects beyond just levelling up a little slower. Should be equivalent to being drunk with blurry vision and a stamina reduction. Try and go 3 days without sleep and you'll find yourself blacking out randomly with 1-2 hours of time passing.
  • Camp sites - Start a fire anywhere you want to be able to cook and establish a camp site where you can eat and sleep.
  • Swimming adjustments - Ever tried swimming wearing full plate armour? I'm guessing it's not as easy as it is in Skyrim. Swim speeds go up the less armor you wear with the best swimmers being those that dare to strip down to their underwear before taking a dip. The best you can do in full plate is wade rather than swim.

That's the things I've come across so far in this play through that would be enhanced by mods I'm sure there are more.

Tried both of the horse mods and neither of them seemed to work with regards to saddlebags. Did find one on Steam though that seems to include it shall report back on that one later.

The backpack mod replaces quivers so is incompatible with an Archer which is a shame.

I'm going to try out this potions mod which adds Toxicity to potions and rebalances them to be longer lasting.

I completely agree. I would love for someone to point the right direction for these.
