Stock Blank .wav files - are they usable?

I was wondering if there was any way I could just assign a single .wav file for blank voices or several of varying lengths to minimise the amount of disk space I spend on blank .wavs when making dialogue before I actually record any real voices. My mod's pretty short still in terms of voiced dialogue but it's already got 22MB to its name. Is it possible to just have all dialogues point to said blank .wavs or is this because of how the game has to code out every dialogue speech and .lip file?
