Cannot Use SkyrimNexus Mods Anymore! I Need Expert Help Please&#33

Hello first and foremost my apologies if this has been posted somewhere else.I looked but didn't see a similar topic.

Now to the matter at hand i have been having some very serious issues with my skyrim ever since i hit that dreaded download button to download that god forsaken HD texture mod.

Here is the situation,every time i download a mod through steam workshop and apply it then play the game i have no crash issues whatsoever.

Now this is with the HD pack installed mind you.

 

Now when i try to install a texture mod or any mod from my hard drive that i downloaded from this website and apply it and then i try to play the game as soon as i start a new game and get to the part where i am on

the cart on the way to be beheaded my game crashes to desktop every single time with no error message.Now this is happening with the HD texture pack installed.

Now i have been trying to solve this perplexing and very frustrating issue on my own for days now.

 

These are the steps i have so far taken to try and fix this issue to no avail.

 

1) I uninstalled and re-installed skyrim from scratch tried the game with no mods installed with HD pack activated game runs fine.

 

2) I install a few test mods from steam workshop and activate them with the HD pack game runs fine.

 

3) I install a few mods that i downloaded from SkyrimNexus just a few armor retexture mods for the imperial legion nothing major to test things out.I activate these mods along with the mods from Steam and HD pack start game game crashes at the point i mentioned above.

 

4) I deactivate the mods from Steam workshop and just run the mods from nexus and the HD pack start the game and again a crash at the same point.

 

5) Did the INI tweaks that are suggested my other members deleted the ESP's and just used the HD pack's BSA files only.I activate all my mods i stated above start the game and once again at the same point the game crashes.

 

6) I downloaded BSAopt and unpacked the HD pack 01 and 02 texture BSA's extracted them to my back up hard drive in it's own folder,I deleted the HD Texture pack BSA's and ESP's from my skyrim data directory.

 

I also in conjunction with this step unpacked the main master mesh and texture files that came with the game also to my back drive in it's own folder since after downloading the hd pack the main texture and mesh folders disappear completely from my skyrim data folder,which i am guessing that both texture and mesh folders get converted to BSA files respectively which in my opinion is bullcrap to begin with.

That done i create a new textures folder and meshes folder in my skyrim data Directory like is suppose to be and reapply the original textures and meshes that came with the game into these folders.

I start up the game and it runs fine with no mods.

 

7) I reapply the mods i downloaded from steam again try the game no crashes.This is without me using the texture files that i extracted from the HD texture pack earlier mind you.

 

8: Now i reapply the texture files that i extracted from the HD texture packs's BSA's to my texture and meshes folder one by one which took me roughly one hour in a half of tedious work.I activate just the mods from steam and

start the game again no crashes.Game looks great.

 

9) Now once more i try to install a small texture mod that i downloaded from here which replaces the imperial legion armor's texture and comes with it's own esp plugin just to test things out again i load the game back up

try to start a new game and once more the game crashes.As you can imagine at this point i am ready to destroy my pc.So here i am now frustrated beyond belief.

 

 

I am all out of options.I have tried everything i can think off. i hate to say this but i believe that Bethesda has made it extremely difficult since it released this hd pack to use other texture mods or any mods period that are not there own or are not downloaded from Steam workshop.I love the SkyrimNexus and i hate the fact that i have over 75 up to date quality mods that i downloaded from this great site and i can no longer use them.

This is a travesty and is not right.I am not by any means a steam basher as i always took the stand that steam has it's usefulness but it's flaws as well.

 

But now i feel like the crossed the line.And i hope i am wrong.As it stands now i much rather download all my mods from this site and this site only as i always have but unless someone can tell me how i can overcome this issue i stated above and suggest me another step i haven't thought off i don't know if can play skyrim anymore.

 

Can someone please offer me some expert advice and help me shed some light into this situation.And my apologies for the long post but i rather be thorough and explain things clearly so anyone who decides to

offer me some advice or help will understand the problem i am having.Thank you all in advance who decide to take some time from there free time to help a fellow gamer out. Regards Logik...

Hi there,

 

Although you gave a lot of detailed info there, It would still be helpful to know what your system specs are. Specifically, if you are using the 32bit or 64 bit version of Windows if you happen to be running that, as many folks have reported similar issues with the 32bit version of Windows 7 since the Hi-Res Texture Pack release.
