jedimembrain
Hey everyone. Ive been learning the CK over the last few days and I can now do just about anything with base content that I want to do .. But Ive ran into some restraints with mods... How would I go about making a new outfit to be used on NPCs that contains content from two different esp files? .. I want to use the armor from one and the helmets from another as well as hair on NPCs from another mod and change the same NPC's outfit. The only way I can figure out to get this to work is to forget the esp files that come with the mods and just use the nif files and make my own armor sets .. but this requires a lot of extra work since there is a lot of new armors ~_~; Is there some way to make this work? jet4571
Just load the mod esp's when you load your mod and use the assets just like you would from the Skyrim.esm. when you save the items will be available as long as you have the other mods. That also makes it where you are not stealing someones work if you dont have permission to use the files, it requires them but does not include them. jedimembrain
That doesnt seem to work unless I do it within the original mod's esp file .. if I make a new esp all the NPCs show up naked .. and yes the original mod is active .. and I cant do it with the original mod's esp since I'm using armor parts from a few different mods .. and yes I know I built the outfits properly cause base game outfit parts will show up fine... could this be a load order thing or something? Also .. this is only for personal use .. I'm not trying to turn someone elses mod into something new then re upload it .. I just want to see these armors and helmets on other NPCs Edited February 14, 2012 by jedimembrain
jedimembrain
Is there a way to merge the esp files? .. its the only way I can think of that would work ~_~; hate to be a bumper but I posted this at midnight so a lot of people who might know didnt even see it "US time zones that is"
NoAardvarksAllowed
You can merge .esps with TESsnip. In previus games, you could make the .esp into an .esm master file, and then load that in the GECK/CS, and then all it's resources would be availabele to loaded .esps. But for some reason I can't get the CK to load multiple master files. It used to be that you only added a line to the SDK's .ini (bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 in the case of the GECK) or change a 0 to 1, but that won't work for me. jedimembrain
I was afraid I wold see that word again "TESsnip" .. its to bad I cant use content from other esp files so easily .. it would help if I wanted to add more armor and hair down the line .. I guess I'll have to re create all the armors again in a custom esp file.. hmm.. I could use the practice I guess... and it would allow me to add new armor down the line a bit easier .. wouldn't have to re merge all the esp files again... less chance of something going horribly wrong. Thanks No_Aardvarks.
