Kyrene slows down and looks back to where they found the body. "Zuriel, hold up a moment. Something's not right here. I want to check something."

She walks back to where the body was. Looking to Tilindra ans Solros, "You found something, right? What was it?" She looks back at the body trying to determine how it was killed. She looks around at the surrounding woods at back at the body.

"This isn't right. Why is that body here? If the bandits robbed it, why not take everything? The items Tilindra found suggests that this is not a robbery. So it must be something else. Is the body a warning to other robbers not to steal from each other? Or something else? We might want to take a moment to think this through. We could be rushing into something we're unprepared for. And we would not help the child if we are caught or killed ourselves."

"Anyone else have any suggestions?"

As Solros is looking at the package, Tilindra takes a closer look at the knife. "Well, as this was under him, I'd say that whoever attacked him didn't get away lightly, so I don't think we need to worry about attack. He could be a messenger, in which case he was killed for politics, and we should steer clear. Never get involved in politics. It's an unusual knife, or at least I've never seen its like. At least it will help us identify him. Do you want to unwrap the package here Solros? I think we should possibly wait till later, and keep on after Zuriel for now. Kyrene is right about a chance of ambush but, I think there is enough of us to handle most things."

She puts the knife in her backpack, and makes to follow the others.

Zuriel does not reply to Kyrene, but mentally rolls his eyes. The group had been since setting out been in danger of ambush; the body only reinforced that fact. The items, or whatever they found, also had no relevance to the current quest. Stopping to examine the body more closely would not aid in finding the child. Zuriel pushes on through the brush, trying to move slowly and place his feet carefully as to utilize the camoflauge effect to his advantage as much as possible by not creating any loud noises.

Zuriel

As Zuriel slides through the underbrush, he hears the sound of shod hooves coming toward him from the north. From the sound, it appears to be approching at a walking pace. There is ample coverage where he is, and the sounds seem to be coming from a cross path, rather than the one he is on.

Solros

Within the piece of cloth are several cloves of an unknown origin. They appear to be dried, and seem to have a pungent odor - like a strong tea.

Kyrene

You are distracted for a moment by the search of the body. The cause of death is quite obvious as the body is turned for a second. There is a large gash across the belly. There is very little blood, and you find this strange for a death such as this.

As thje rest of you turn, Zuriel seems to be already gone. There is no sign of where he has gone.

Kyrene takes on last glance back at the body and jogs to catch up to Solros and Tilindra. By her look you can tell that she's puzzled.

"Solros.. Tilindra... I think we have a puzzle here. A belly wound like that would bleed a lot more than what we saw. But there wasn't any blood by the body. I've done my share of hunting and skinning of animals... and there is always blood. I'm thinking that the poor fellow was killed somewhere else and his body was dumped here. But why would anyone do that? I think we need to be more careful as we travel."
