Melisande
Karina goes over to the tall Cerboean and has him look at the papers as well. "Does the word 'Paroist' mean anything to anyone?" She asks. "Is there anyone here adept at languages or lore who might take a shot at deciphering these?"
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 0832 As Karina says the word 'Paroist', there is a grinding sound from where Kyrene and Karath are looking at the cloth. The cloth drops to the floor, and a blast of air, reeking of spoilage, comes through an ever widening opening in the wall. The stones seem to slide into each other to you left until a doorway about three feet wide and six feet tall is revealed. Behind the door is a passageway that leads to your left, about five feet wide and eight tall. The sickeningly sweet smell of decay permeates the room, carried by some breeze coming from some unknown place. The Cerboean is unable to decipher the runes any more than Karina
Emry
"Well, isn't this interesting." Kyrene peers into the opening before her. "Shall we go down and if there is anything down here?" She brings her sword to a ready position.
SimVig
Solros turns his attention to the passage. "A strange place, that's for sure. No-one knows what could await us there - we better be careful. One of you more experienced with dangers should go in front. In fact, we should stick to the Cerboean's plan."
Sol'Kanar
"Well done," Zuriel says to Karina. In reply to Solros, Zuriel says "Yes, yes," dismissively, and enters the passage with bow drawn.
Acoran
"I've experiance with traps, but I would guess you don't want to let your life depend on a 'basket-weaver' so you go first and disarm anything that is down there. It really is selfless of you....But I don't mind not risking my life." Karath says as he follows Zuriel down. Dispite his comments he keeps his eyes out for any traps. Sol'Kanar
"It is quite obvious you don't mind depending on others to protect you, basketweaver," Zuriel retorts over his shoulder, not losing a step.
Tilindra Melir
Tilindra follows behind, taking the position she had before. While keeping an eye out on what is around her, she has a slightly amused expression on her face. Even though she has only known her companions a few hours, she already has the makings of a story going through her head. "Cerboen, may I have a quick look at the papers after you? I have a knack with languages, and if I have a look it might jog my memory."
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 0834 The corridor is obviously not natural. Smooth, worked walls of a greyish stone meet squarely with a level, well worn floor. Whatever it was that made these, had knowledge of tools and stoneworking. There are places where designs have been carved into the walls - not really pictures of any kind, just designs - spirals, concentric circles, even one that looks like a brick wall. There are places on these that have chipped and fallen away, though there is no rubble on the floor. The stench of decay is great here, as you move down the corridor. Zuriel soon finds at least part of the reason. At the head of another stairway leading down he finds another body, similar to the one found outside. Clothing and equipment have also been torn off of him, and the cause of death is rather apparent - his head lies some five feet from the rest of his body. A glint from the following torchlight catches his attention, and he looks over to find the broken blade of a sword, about a foot in length, against the wall to his left. A breeze from below carries up more of the stench, though much stronger. The air also carries with it something else, something Zuriel can't identify, something... something he can't quite put his finger on.
