SimVig
Solros suddenly opens his eyes wider, and raises both his hands, releasing his Telekinetic powers, and trying to move the sand from into the orc's eyes, who is engaging Karina. He then prepares to continue with the same tactic. Emry
Kyrene grunts as the the male without a father sword connects with a satisfying thunk into the orc's chest. This is just like being back at the keep....slash... slash... step ... thrust... parry..... she thinks to herself. A disciplined calm falls over her as she focuses in on the target and the moment. Breathing hard with control and exertion, she follows through the slashing movement with a quick spin/pivot, bring the sword whistling around for a decapitating blow. Melisande
Karina continues riding past the first, looking to charge into the ones behind the others. She realizes she made one small mistake, the pole arm might ahve been a better choice of weapon. "Oh well" she thinks as she prepares for the next attack, "this is much more dashing anyway." disregarding any defense, she plows the horse forward into the other orcs at full charge. Adrian Laguna
Judging that Kyrene is at a safe enough distance, the Cerboean launches his spell (Lesser Lightning Cloud) at the two Orcs directly in front of him. His aim is directed to the spot in between and a bit in front of the Orcs. In anticipation to possible close quarters combat, he makes sure the longsword slides easily in and out of it's sheath. Then he starts charging a Lesser Fire Bolt.
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 0903 50 The big horse continues its charge through the first orc and onward, going too fast to wheel quickly enough to hit the nearest one, it charges on toward the one in the center of the formation. The look in the orc's eyes belies the fear the creature feels as first the horse rams it, then Karina's katana slices neatly through muscle and other tissues, practically decapitating the orc. It spins twice before hitting the ground and lying motionless. (HMAR - 155, CCrit 85/ MAR - 180, ECrit 92 / OMAR - 62) The sand kicks up in a small cloud around the orc's eyes. First, he just barely survived a horse charge, now he begins to claw at his eyes, trying desperately to free himself from the stinging of the small pebbles as they pick and poke at him. (SAR - 116, RR - 15) Kyrene's blow comes around and is a little lower than she expected, catching the orc squarely in the midsection. The resulting eruption of orc innards is quite rewarding, however. (MAR - 128 - DCrit(SL) 81) The Cerboean's lightning cloud does not do as well as he would have hoped. The spell is obviously weaker than it should be, and the area is less than it should. Even worse, the spell seems to have come up slightly short, and the orcs behind it seem to be unaffected. (MAR - 58) The other orcs seem to be unfazed by the recent events, and continue to advance on the rest of the party. The two behind the lightning cloud move around it, and the others move into a full charge at the party's left flank. Morgo and Zakath seem frozen, as if they were unaccustomed to the live combat. The fire cloud drifts to the northwest on the cool morning breeze.
Melisande
Seeing no orcs in front of her, Karina wheels Kellian and looks around at the field. Seeing her friend about to be beset by a pair of orcs, she charges at them, looking to knock them over as she charges past. OOC - btw - what do the SAR/MAR/MMAR/etc mean? Is it something I should be watching?
Adrian Laguna
Cursing at the lack of time to properly prepare spells, the Cerboean looks for a target. Seeing that Kyrene is in danger of being surrounded, he launches his Lesser Fire Bolt at the Orc to Kyrene's left. "Hopefully this won't startle her too much," the Cerboean thinks to himself as he begins to charge up a Lesser Lightning Cloud. "Let's see if it works better this time." Emry
Seeing the disemboweled Orc drop into a heap before her, Kyrene grins savagely. Her gaze shifts left and she focuses in on the next Orc. He and his partner's are carrying battleaxes. Must be careful.... must be calm.... step... step... thrust. she thinks to herself and shifts her stance accordingly. Time to continue this killing dance..." Humming along to a music only she can hear, she viciously thrusts her male without a father sword at the Orc's left side (orc's left not her's - the one closest to her)
Kethruch
INFORMATIONAL POST: To answer Melisande's Question (and I'm guessing a lot of yours too) (HMAR - 155, CCrit 85/ MAR - 180, ECrit 92 / OMAR - 62) Horse Modified attack roll was a 155 (open ended percentile dice plus/minus appropriate modifiers such as DB, OB, etc) - part of the result: CCrit 85 - C-level critical roll of 85 MAR - 180 - Modified attack roll was 180 (for Karina), E-level critical 92 OMAR - 62 - Orc modified attack roll was 62 (SAR - 116, RR - 15) SAR 116 - Spell Attack roll was a 116 (open ended percentile dice plus/minus appropriate modifiers such as spell bonus, cover, etc) RR - 15 Resistance roll of target was a 15 Hope that helps. I'll wait the rest of today and if there are no other posts, I will post the next round of combat. also - this is something I've been working on - would you like me to complete/continue using this form of map for you? Let me know your comments.
Melisande
Thanks - will there be more stuff like this as we go on? If so, when you use an abbreviation or code or whatever if you could explain it the first time it would help. Thanks. BTW - I like the map - is that the region we are in? and is the little spot in the hills where we are now?
