Prowler03
Morgo sits in the tavern. He and Solros have been waiting quite a while, seeing as they were unable to uncover much information. Morgo sips on his ale. He has tasted better in his homelands, but he still loves this type. It is different, and he feels that it is going to grow on him. He finishes his mug. Wiping his chin he looks over to the bar where the Keeper is standing. Morgo gets himself up out of his seat and walks over to the bar. He climbs up onto a stall and starts to talk to the Keeper. Master Keeper, you have been incredibly good to us over this past day. I feel as if I may be being a bit pushy here, but we are going to need as much information on the surrounding bandits as possible. I believe that the small girl has been kidnapped by them... probably for one of their moneymaking schemes. However, we know little of them, and I am sure you would know a lot of information on them, coming from these parts and all. So please, if you have any information on the Bandits or their whereabouts please tell us." Morgo feels bad about his pushiness. "Sorry my good friend, but this is quite important to me..." Morgo stops... takes a deep breath and carries on, "I had a sister that was taken by bandits. I remember going out to look for them with my father. He was a moneylender, but a very good man. I remember stumbling across a small cave... it was empty. We walked further in and..." Morgo stops, a tear in his eye. "There she was, dead on the floor. She had been stabbed many times... We buried her in the dirt outside our home... sometimes I can swear that I hear her sing... since that fateful day I have had a bitter hatred for bandits." Morgo stops again, and puts his head against the bar. He has upset himself, and told a secret that he thought that he would always keep close to his heart. "I'm sorry... I shouldn't be laying this on you." Morgo stands, and slowly walks over to the table, where he starts sobbing very quietly.
Emry
Kyrene takes the small flowerpot and wraps it in one of her pelts and stores it in her satchel. "I'd like to go back to the inn and meet up with the others." She walks along for a few steps and then turns and faces Cerborn. She takes a deep breath as if steeling herself for a confrontation. "Could I ask you a question??" she blurts out. Rushing on, "When we were back at the inn, how did you raise that fork in the air? I mean....was that magic?? I've never seen magic before...." she trails off into a whisper. She looks to Cereborn for a response, frightened of what she may hear. (OOC - Aren't you a Cerboean not a Cerborn? Unless I've misread it and Cerborn is your name?)
Tilindra Melir
Tilindra follows Zuriel back to the inn, after saying good bye to the woman (and assuming Karath has no questions :) ). When she gets there she tells the others what the mother said. "I think we had best hope that they kept the girl as a camp slave. If they sold her on, we may never find her. Do we want to head out this afternoon?"
Adrian Laguna
OOC: It was Simvig's character Solros who lifted the the fork in the air not me, my character has used no magic... yet... As for the naming, I mixed up the name of the Cerboeans (aka Old Ones) with the name of the Cerenorn (aka Great Protectors), my character is a Cerboean. I talked to Kethruch and he said that there will be no problem if I/we considered Cerboean and Cerborn as interchangable. The leters between the "r" and the "o" determine which race is being refered to, just a "b" means an Old One, an "e" and an "n" means a Great Protector. Hence Cerboeans/Cerborns are magic using Old Ones, and Cerenorns/Cerenoeans are fighting Great Protectors. Also I have not decided on name, personal history, etc. for my character, so I came up with the amnesia thing until something comes to mind, when it does he will suddenly remember and tell you his real name, at the moment he is alowing everybody to refer to him by the name of his race, like calling your character "human". I will take the liberty of changing your quesition to refer to Solros lifting the fork into the air, and you are asking me about the magic in case I might know something (hope you don't mind). [/OOC] "Yes it was magic, Solros is a Lay Healer, I believe, a type of magic user who specializes in healing and mentalism spells." Pause to let that sink in "The world is filled with strange and wonderous things, even those who know of magic and its practice do not know everything, and they may be suprised by things in nature that even they do not understand. While it is wise to be cautious about such things, it is even wiser to not be afraid, fear prevents people from taking advantage of what is beneficial. A group of people gripped by fear can be more destructive, or allow more destruction, than the object of their fear could by itself." Another pause to prevent overwheming Kyrene, then the Cerboean lifts up his hand so that she may see its pale skin and six fingers. "As you can see I am not human, I am of a race know as the Cerboeans, or Old Ones to the other races, I do not remember much more than that, other than most of our history has been lost to time. I am personally a High Elementalist, my specialisation is elemental magic, used mostly for destruction and offense, much in the way you use your sword, but at a distance and, with knowledge and experience I do not yet have, much more power. This power must be used with care, or there can be terrible results for both the caster and his allies." He points to his head, "Because of a misfire of a low level spell I have lost some of my memory, it is not much, but my name is among the things lost in the depths of my mind, a higher level spell, and it could have been my life." The Cerborn becomes silent, and lets Kyrene think about what she has been told, while they walk back to the inn.

Emry
Kyrene walks silently beside the Cereborn, pondering his words. You can tell by the look on her face that she is struggling to come to terms with this new and powerful idea. At last she looks over to the Cerborn and smiles hesitantly. "You have given me...much to think about. On not about something that can be dones quickly or in one night." She pauses with a sigh of rememberance before continuing. "In the slave huts, magic was only whispered about rarely and then only with great fear. I had never seen anything like it until this morning, and to be honest, it frightened me. I stood there frightened - yet facinated - by a simple fork floating before me. " she sighs again to herself. "I have learned to live by my wits and the strength of my arm. That has always been sufficient for me. Now I feel as if my world has suddenly shifted, as if I was in a groundquake, and a new landscape lies before me. I have much to think about....." She walks on silently for a few more yards then turns around suddenly and looks him straigh in the eyes. "I do want you to know that I do not consider you strange or different because of the extra finger or your pale skin. You are no different than myself..or the dwarves... or even an orc. You are just you. I do not judge a person on their looks, but rather their deeds. If you are honest and true to me and our other new companions, then that will be enough, and I will gladly call you friend."
SimVig
Solros is sitting in the inn when Morgo tells the keeper his story. When he hears it, he is lost for words. The only thing that comes out in a while is "I'm sorry for your sister, Morgo." Solros is relieved when Tilindra, Zuriel and Karath come inside to save him from the uncomfortable situation. He hears Tilindra out and responds, that they should definetely move out right away.
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 0735 The Innkeeper looks at Morgos as he completes his story. He listened with the stoic perserverence of his profession, but he is unable to control himself at the end. "I have heard many stories, friend. But few have touched me as yours has. I have always heard that yours is a noble yet hard race. Never, as I live and breathe, has anyone ascribed the word 'sensitive' to one of your kind. Friend, I thank you for bringing your candor, your sensitivity, and your honor into my establishment. I am wealthier in many ways in having had the fortune to have crossed your path." With that, he turns, and quickly goes into a back room, not before leaving another ale on the table.
Adrian Laguna
"Slave huts? You where a slave? I am glad you are not part of that despicable thing anymore, slavery is an insult to civilization. As the Cerborean and Kyrene aproach the inn, he says, "I apreciate your tolerance, my race... yes I remember about that... my race has been hunted in the past for various reasons, our use of magic, fear that we would rule the land as we did 10,000 years ago. People are more tolerant now, not everybody, but most people. You can count on me being honest, and true to you and our companions, but don't expect my moral values to be perfect, I am an adventurer not a saint." "If you worry about mages who use their power for evil, you must know that there are quite a few, of my race and many others. You must not worry though, I will engage any enemy who weilds magic, and I am sure Solros will heal you if you are injured by their attacks. You in turn must deal with opponents who weild normal weapons and armor, since a mage is at a disadvantage at hand-to-hand combat. Deal?" Upon entering the inn, the Cerborn reports what he and Kyrene found about the flower, and in turn he listens to what the others have to say. "The flower is important, but I think getting the girl takes priority. The village is slowly dying, but I do not know if the raiders will give the girl much more time. I say we go straight to where the marauders are suspected to be with the girl. After she is rescued we can send a couple of people to escort the girl back home while the rest of us go... lets's see plant is east of village, if we travel north-east then we have to go... south to look for the plant." Tilindra Melir
Tilindra nods at what Cerborn is saying. "I can see no reason to stay here longer. We have a direction to head in, and if the bandits are raiding on a fairly regular basis, they are probably very close." Her eyes narrow, as if her thoughts are only partly on the daughter, and she seems to withdraw slightly. "Bandits are usually cowards, and are much happier attacking people when the outnumber them 6 to 1, there prey is old, or is not able to put up a fight..." She pauses, and seems to be elsewhere. Suddenly she shakes herself, and the self-confidence she usually shows returns. "A group of well trained people should be able to make them think twice about there actions. I am not a great fighter, as I suspect the dwarf is, but I can use this dirk, and I do have a couple of tricks, which may help in a fight." She gives a laugh as a thought occurs to her. "and I will be able to record it in song for posterity." "Shall we head off?"
