Krawll
Warning : The following footage contains a dangerously high amount of Epicness.Being exposed to such content may cause one or more of the following symptoms: - Drooling - Dry eyes from lack of blinking- May create a dependance or addiction- May alter one's perception Hehe ok trying to be serious now , this is my latest Skyrim video and i have to say i'm quite proud of the result. Now i have to admit i'm a huge fan or action, fights, battles, wars and all related stuff.Plus i'm also a huge fan of Epic orchestral music used in movies or trailers and stuff like that . This video is a mix between all of those things. My only regret is that i don't have a video editor such as SonyVegas Pro to make my vids but regardless , i managed to realy do something great and i would realy like to know what you all think . Only thing is if one of you did not complete the companions quest line, this video might contain a few minor spoilers but nothing major. Up to you to decide whether you still wanna see it or not. Enough said, here it is :D please give some feedback i'm realy curious to know what you all think .
Guardianl
I have watched the movie. And here is my critic. There was nothing epic about this long vid. It was just random gameplay footage of you killing a bunch of stuff. No special effects, no intense close-up or special addition or even a story orsome purpose on the matter. It was just you slashing and killing stuff over andover and over. I'm sorry sounding so negative but that is my honest opinion. I have seen other footage that was basically movie quality editing. This simply not one of them I'mafraid... Constructive addition which may improve your future project. Remove the bars inthe video. We don't need to know you worked 10 hours or such... A good footage you can clearly see there was many hours put in it. What you're doing is just ego mate. We don't need you to say how epic your work is that is just ego the footage should speak for itself. Being humble is key even being serious or being goofy. Or put that in comments not the acteull video! If possible higher quality of game graphic settings and custom textures to give it an edge and edited once more in a video editing program. Next time make more a real for like 2 to 3 minutes release it or show a fewpeople if they like expand it. But still kudos fortrying to make something from nothing that alone is an achievement! Thanks for your honesty. I agree it may appear as my ego was way over the top but the things i said about the symptoms was me trying to be funny . It was supposed to be humorous and yeah i was trying to get people's curiosity but still was mostly meant to generate a laugh and nothing else. Now what you said about me just slashing stuff over and over has nothing Epic to it, i have to say that depends on people's tastes. For me thats something i enjoy watching a lot. A movie can have the worst story ever , if it has good fighting scenes, i'll still like it . About image quality, well i apologize for that , i can't realy afford to spend on all those expensive softwares. I use Wegame to record while playing and Wegame does reduce quality a little bit. Then i use VideoPad free edition to edit the video. The free edition has limited features . There are only a certain amount of transitions available and the effects are rather simple . Unlike SonyVegas Pro which has lots and lots of effects . You mentioned trying to get better Graphic settings, i tried that trust me . I had installed 3 mods that inproved textures but they caused my game to crash to desktop every 20 minutes or so and if not crash, it would cause some textures to simply dissapear . I do have a gaming computer but it's 2 years old . My graphics card is a Nvidia GTX 285. it was the second best card in the world when i bought it two years ago. It's still a good one but there are some much better ones now . I let the game detect the best settings for my computer and it set everything to high so . I don't know what else i could do to improve graphics. Now i'm sure that the kinda movie you realy like is stuff similar to the one Tyranicion made recently . Not sure if i spelled his name right but he made basicly the best Skyrim war scene so far. I don't have the tools to make anything like that . He obviously used some Proffessional Softwares to create something like that . He also obviously has a recent computer with a crazy CPU to be able to handle such a high amount of AI all at once. Mine would've crashed for sure . Especialy if i try to record on top of that. And another thing is i don't know enough console commands to create such a war scene . I doubt he only used " TCAI, TAI, TM , TGM and player.placeatme" my knowledge of console commands stops there. I never expected my work to be comparable to his . We're definatly not in the same league . Now beleive it or not , there realy was 10 hours of work into that video of mine . I spent all evening yesterday plus half of last night editing this . Trying to make the moves follow the music as much as possible , selecting which parts of the fights i would keep and which ones to remove. Even selecting the music took me a lot of time. I simply could not decide which songs to use. Now the reason why i did mention that it took 10 hours to make it is because i wanted people to know that it wasn't another one of those quickly made regular gameplay videos thats we've all seen countless amounts of times. I still beleive that i brought a new kind of gameplay video to the table . I've never seen anyone else edit their gameplay footage the way i did in this video. It's totaly possible that i'm part of a minority of people though who are simply sattisfied with watching endless fighting though.I somewhat thought that in order to enjoy a game such as Skyrim you kinda had to love fighting since Battles represent about 90 % of the game. The interactions with NPCs are only directing you to your next battle. Every skill you learn in the game is combat related. Including enchanting , Alchemy and Smithing . They are all there to help you become more efficient in battle. But anyways , i'm just trying to clear a few things here. I respect your opinion . I couldn't possibly expect everyone to enjoy this type of videos and i did ask for some feedback which you gave . Since you're the only person out of 42 views who did give some feedback , i thank you for taking the time to do so. I do apreciate it . And i apologize if i sounded a tad egocentric. Ferodaktyl
i've almost watched the moviesadly, it's too long and repetitive, and it fells short of epicsome opinions ( from a personal point of view): - make it shorter, 5 mins max- try to include only the parts you like the most, so it looks not like a walkthrough- don't overuse slow-motion camera- skip the parts where nothing happens, except for those with scenic value with some careful editing i think it has what it takes to come close to epic i'll expect a new improved version of your work
Guardianl
No worries m8. It was just to give some input. To create good video's you need more RAM for instance.I don't know your exact system specs but my pc is also a few years old. But I can still run many games on max settings. It requires some editing though and some know how with pc most importantly are freeing pc resources. There aresome freeware videos editing tools out there... I don't know them out of myhead. But I do recommend researching in them I have seen good work out there. Also some of the major programs do give you trial for a week or a month. Have a look there. Even if on max settings the recording is slower somewhat this can always be edited to an extent. You do not need to have crème the la crème necessarily. On other forums or here perhaps people can advise you regarding these tools. And ask the other guy what tools he used. Wish you good luck m8 and drop a link when you create your next work. Krawll
this is as epic as brushing my teeth. Coming from a guy who joined this forum yesterday and only has 10 posts. Keep doing this and you'll make lots of friends on here i'm sure. On that note, there is a way to tell someone you dislike his work without being a total a$$. In my opinion, in order for a video to be called a Movie, it has to have a story and interactions between 2 or more characters. What i did was more like a video clip. A very long video clip yes but still not a movie. I mixed some of the best Orchestral music i could find with some fighting and i edited the fighting to follow the music . When the music became slow , i slowed down the fighting, when the music became intense i made the fighting faster and added transitions. My biggest mistake was the way i presented the video , i do realise now that i've raised people's expectations too high which made the video a dissapointment to most viewers. Still thank you for being respectfull in your comment , unlike the person below you who felt the need to be rude . Now there will not be another version of this same video. I always delete the original clips when i'm done with a video , so i can make room to record new ones but i'll consider your advice in my next videos. Although , when i see a video that i like only lasting 5 minutes, i tend to be dissapointed when it ends. I always wished that good video makers would create longer videos. It's gonna be hard for me to try and keep things short . Another things i'd like to say is that when i started making those Skyrim videos, my intention was to follow the progress of this character. Recording all the main events and most interesting fights and make then into videos so i that when i'm completly done with this playthrough, i'll be able to relive some of it through my videos. Now when i got done with this one, i thought it was good enough to share it with others which is why it ended up on the forum. Obviously it wasn't . So if i do make a " Movie" one day i'll post it here but seeing the amount of people who viewed the thread and only 3 people replied to it and all comments were somewhat negative with one of them being over the top negative, i think i'll just avoid posting my vids here. Unless of course i created it specificaly for that purpose following your advice or Guardianl's advice . Thanks for your contructive comment. Now i know what to post and what to keep for myself lol.
