ShoShoSho
The game's intro, set on a wagon, got me to thinking: While perhaps pre-animated instead of using a realtime physics simultation, do you think it would be possible to mod a vehicle into Skyrim? Like, say, a monster truck. Yes, that would be completely nutty. I'm actually channeling a joke cheat in "Age of Empires" here that would spawn a monster truck on the map, a similar anachronism. Jakisthe
I'm positive it's possible; just make some colossal changes the horse mesh/model.
Lazer382
I would love to be able to hop in a boat outside one of the towns and row down river. Sounds a bit tougher than replacing the horse with a boat model tho >_<
ShoShoSho
I'm positive it's possible; just make some colossal changes the horse mesh/model. For a really nice vehicle you actually need a physics sim, though. You need to accurately have collision detection for the wheels, inertia, center of gravity, etc. I don't think horses have that. Basically I'm wondering if the Skyrim engine has the frameworks for this, and if the mount logic is at all moddable enough to plug a vehicle into it. For example, I read that there were no mount mods for the Fallout games because horses were hard-coded into Oblivion and the code just wasn't present in the Fallout executables. That sounds like mounts in Oblivion were a pretty hardcoded solution, and not simply an application of more generic frameworks. I'm hoping Skyrim is different there.
