Three of a Kind

One word would sum up this mod concept... Triumvirate.

To quote wikipedia "A triumvirate (from Latin, "of three men") is a political regime dominated by three powerful individuals, each a triumvir (pl. triumviri). The arrangement can be formal or informal, and though the three are usually equal on paper, in reality this is rarely the case. The term can also be used to describe a state with three different military leaders who all claim to be the sole leader."

The idea of three powerful leaders consolodating their power bases isn't new, in fact Julius Caesar was part of what was once called "The First Triumvirate" along with Pompeius Magnus and Marcus Licinius Crassus. While the trio most likely had no love for one another they respected the power they weilded and agreed that more could be accomplished working together than apart. (and it worked until Crassius died and Caesar killed Pompeius )

If only there could be some series of diplomatic actions by the Courier to either convince or FORCE President Kimball, Caesar and Mister House (or killing House and taking his place) into forming a strong united front against all others.

After all, (without spoiling the endings for those who haven't gotten that far yet) each outcome has at least SOME good and SOME bad for New Vegas. Why not try to consoladate some of that?

Well, triumvirates are inherently unstable... especially if there isn't someone above them. My impression is that most triumvirates are "us against the world" alliances or three "top dogs" working together in a larger political arena, i.e. three powerful Roman senators allying with each other, etc.

In other words, unless you introduce a uber-strong invader or blackmail via nukes/whatever, the only conceivable triumvirate is a triple-alliance between factions within the wastes...

the big three aren't going to be at peace (though House is technically allied to the NCR, from my understanding) but the little factions (i.e. Khans, powder gangers, boomers, etc.) could feasibly align themselves into a conglomerate/snowball for their own gain. In this sense, a triumvirate might easily occur between their leaders.

The only question is whether they would seek independence or an alliance.

I can see House/Benny going with the former.

maybe a Courier/Benny/outsider triumvirate (assuming you save him...) for pro-independence Vegas?
