Making tintmasks and Warpaint show in game?

So.. yea. No matter what I choose, or what I do.. I cannot get warpaint or tint masks to show in the game. New or edited NPCs, it doesn't matter.

I've tried the ctrl+f4 thing for the skin tone.. it doesn't work for the other stuff. Anyone have any ideas?

I have the very same problem and one temporary fix for that is to change the followers weight from console by clicking the follower/npc while in console and typing /setnpcweight to what ever you wish between 1 and 100 in-game. But tintmask and warpaint goes away right after loadingscreen or when restarting the game. Very odd indeed and i haven't found any fix for that yet... Getting frustrated... And i've done the CTRL + F4 stuff dozens of times, but nothing seems to work.. Maybe it's just an issue with the Creation Kit...

I don't know if this helps but I am hoping it's related and someone can shed some light on this problem. For me the modded lip tintmasks that are larger than the default 256x256 do not show at all. I have other textures in-game that are 'HD' 2K and 4K and I have no issues. I've tried several things with the textures themselves, mip-maps, no mip-maps, greyscale, black to alpha....nothing seems to make a difference. I hope this helps or gives you an idea where to look because it sounds related to me. I'm hoping it's just some minor adjustment, ie. tweak this setting and poof - fixed.
