WatchTheShow Posted February 16, 2012 Share Posted February 16, 2012 After my Skyrim went though much crashing and freezing, I decided to figure out what the heck was causing this.I have over 80 mods installed, so it was no easy task figuring out which mods were conflicting. It turns out that it was not a RAM or memory issue, but exactly 11 mods that when used together, will crash your game. To make sure it was just these 11 mods, I uninstalled ALL of the other mods I had, and left only these 11 in my folder. Take note: If ONE of these mods is disabled or uninstalled, then the game will run perfectly fine. You must have all 11 running to initiate a crash.If anyone wants to try and duplicate the crash, here are links to each mod and instructions at the end of the post. 1. Conjure Ethereal Horse http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9534 Instructions: First, start off (fast travel) at Dovahkiin retreat. It's located between Riverwood and Whiterun. Second, summon your ethereal horse and mount it.Third, run through the river (heading west). Fourth, after you have crossed the river, head north towards hunningbrew meadery.Fifth, continue running along the cobblestone path that leads to the entrance of Whiterun. You should experience a crash between the meadery and the fast travel carriage. If anyone tries this, I'd like to know if you experienced a crash or not. Also, if anyone knows why these mods (when used together) crash your game, please do tell. They all seem so random, I'm not 100% sure why they conflict, or even how they would conflict. dr00g Posted February 16, 2012 Share Posted February 16, 2012 I use both the Dovahkiin Retreat and Hideout and the water textures mods, and my game is crashing at random but I think it was just a memory/FPS thing I don;t know since i'm using those three mods at the same time do you think it could be those? WatchTheShow Posted February 16, 2012 Author Share Posted February 16, 2012 Well I talked with the author of the Dovahkiin Temple Sanctuary, and he said that it was probably scripts in the mod that were conflicting with each other. Bromjunaar Extended, Realistic Water Textures, Dovahkiin Temple Sanctuary, and Dovahkiin Hideout all have scripts within them, and I'm pretty sure the other ones I listed do too. I know that there are complaints in the Dovahkiin Hideout and Dovahkiin Temple that the quest "Dragon Rising" won't start. Dovahkiin Retreat and Hideout were made to go together, so they shouldn't conflict with each other, but they might be conflicting with Realistic Water textures because the Dovahkiin Retreat changes the water flow by installing a bridge over the river.Try disabling realistic water textures and see if you crash. If you don't crash, then turn RWT back on, and disable retreat. If you still don't crash after trying each one of those mods individually, then they're most likely conflicting. sbire Posted February 16, 2012 Share Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) damn *double post* maybe there are some .esp ore .bsa without his .esm ....this will crash the client at start.some mods using a .esm and will crashing the client without his .esp. if you use many hd textures and you using enhanced shaders (enb) so try to set the options for shaders from very high to high. you want see a different, but you winning much better performance. All three of those mods are using scripts that have to do with the dragon priest mask holder. I think those three mods might be the core problem. All three of those mods change the nature of the dragon priest mask holder, so maybe that's causing the crashes. @sbire: You must have all 11 mods running at the same time. If you just run a few at a time, nothing happens. You'll only see crashes if you have all 11. I can run #3,4,6,9 without any problems too. But I can't run #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 at the same time.
