Flappeh
So I recently tried installing the Midas magic mod and this being my first mod, I screwed it up big time. I said to download in the main skyrim folder under users/common/skyrim. When prompted with the zip file, I ADDED it to file and chose not to replace anything. When it finished installing, I go to launch the game and I get the little menu box and then"SKYRIMLAUNCHER IS NOT WORKING" pops up and the thing crashes. So my question is, how do I uninstall this mod and get my game working again?I DO NOT care about lost progress as I was planning on restarting anyway. Also, please explain it like I'm five
MShoap13
Open the archive in whatever program you prefer and use it's contents as a reference so you can track down the files you extracted to your /Skyrim/Data/ directory.
Flappeh
So by whatever program I prefer, do you mean winrar and the like?

Flappeh
Thanks so much, but the original files that were there such as SkyrimLauncher aren't there anymore. Should I reinstall anyway to get those back? Or are they hidden?
MShoap13
Your issue has nothing to do with you installing Midas Magic. You should verify your game cache through Steam before going for a full reinstall. It's likely to fix the issue.
Flappeh
Your issue has nothing to do with you installing Midas Magic. You should verify your game cache through Steam before going for a full reinstall. It's likely to fix the issue. So to get this straight, go through the files via winrar history and delete the mod. Then verify the steam cache and I should be good?
MShoap13
Yes. In general, it's good practice to keep the archives of any mod you've downloaded around. They're useful if you ever need to manually delete a mod or if you ever feel the need to do a full reinstall from scratch.
