D.E.C.A.Y. help removing, ghouls permanently messed up

My nephew installed the D,E.C.A.Y. mod which looks, IMO, like someone used MS Paint to color these things and although I uninstalled it, the ghouls are all stills messed up. Any idea what files it might leave behind or any idea on how to fix it back to normal?

You'll need to navigate to your Fallout 4 installation - Steam\Steamapps\Common\Fallout4\Data

The newest version of that mod contains files in two folders (not sure if the file structure in the previous versions was exactly the same.

You'll need to delete all the texture files inside

Textures\Actors\FeralGhoul

Textures\NewGhouls

Also, make sure that the D.E.C.A.Y.esp is gone from your DATA folder, as well as

Sound\FX\FeralGhoul

Sound\FX\FeralGhoulGlowing (maybe it was FeralGhoulGrowling - apologies if so for the typo)

Materials\DECAY

 

(red is for the folders you need to make sure are gone, including that .esp - white is folder structure)

edit: orphaned files are usually a bad uninstall, if your using the latest version of NMM, that could be the issue as that version is very buggy)

Thanks! That did it. I thought I found all of the files, but there was a texture file that must still have been running over the original.

I recommend you try the Detailed Feral Ghouls mod - easily the best feral ghoul replacer on Nexus.

I actually bookmarked that one when I was looking to see what mod was running that changed the ghouls. I'm installing it now.
