Better Distant Land/Draw Distance

Anyone making headway with this? The absolutely pitiful draw distance has to be the only thing (besides how water works, which I can ignore) I don't like about Skyrim's graphics. I imagine there will eventually be a graphics extender (which I would also think would have such a feature to extend the draw distances) so I wonder how far that's off, and generally just what anyone else might be doing to this effect outside of that.

Do you know about the line uGridsToLoad in skyprefs?

I have mine set at 7 but it can be more, however increasing the ugrid number and saving a game you cannot go back to an earlier save game using less ugrids.

You can go back, it just requires a very specific process to return to a lower setting.

It's still awful and it stops having any actual effect past 9, at the cost of massively increased loading times no doubt.
