I've tried again and again to disable certain mods, rebash the patch, even ran without a bashed patch, and nothing. The intro video plays, the Skyrim logo shows up, and then the game CTDs. I've already checked, and my sound settings are as suggested in the numerous unhelpful threads that claim it's purely a sound problem. I wasn't having this issue until I uninstalled the Populated Cities mod. As usual, any help would be much appreciated.

Well, you've got a lot of mods, I'll give you that. I don't even know what some of them do.

 

The problem is most likely a mod conflict, you can't just throw that many mods on a pile and think it will all work together. Deactivate all of them and see if the problem persists. If the problem is gone, activate mods one by one and after you activate one, start the game and see if it works. When the problem appears again, just remove the last mod you activated and you shouldn't have problems.

 

It's trial and error.

Seems that FluxMod Enhanced Dead Thrall was having issues with Uncapped Perks. Removing Uncapped Perks fixed it. Now to see if I can enter Understone Keep without a crash.

 

So now the quest to figure out what's causing Understone to hate it when I enter so much.

 

I've dropped quite a few mods, and still get the crash when entering Understone Keep.

After a /lot/ of trial/error, mostly error, I nailed the culprit. The rocket launcher mod, which adds a Halo rocket launcher as a blunt weapon in a few spots in the game, available on Steam Workshop. Hope this saves people with similar load orders some time.
