So the game comes out with many bugs. Fair enough so did Fallout 2. We get a patch. More bugs. We get another patch. More bugs. And another one. Things look stable now. And another patch. Okay finally the game is looking okay.

Oh whats this? A FREE DLC to make up for releasing the game way before it was ready? I think Ill take a look. Ooo its a graphical update. Well the game did always look pretty and this should only make it better. I think ill give it a download.

15 seconds in: Blue glowing stool. 45 Seconds in: Plastic pink textures popping up everywhere.

Didn't bother searching for the solution, eh? Here you go, HD Textures DLC Fix should do it.

I have the fix installed.

Fixed the blue tools. Not the odd pink textures.

And I will still flame about Bethesda releasing such a product even with user generated fixes out there. Bethesda doesnt test ANYTHING before shipping it nowadays.

Well, you can always take apart the bsa archive and use only certain parts. I only have armor and weapon textures installed (since these are the only ones worth of using and I don't see much improvement on other textures). That way you have no issues with texture-replacing mods and you don't have to fiddle around with your ini file.

Pink textures is a very common bug in Bethesda games and has nothing to do with the texture pack. It means some of your files are corrupted. Use Steam to verify the games cache and let it redownload the corrupt files.

The requirements for the high resolution texture pack is 4GB or more RAM and 1GB or more graphics memory. Preferable a 64-bit Windows too (for best LAA-support). Not including other mods and tweaks of course. If you have that or better, maybe there is something else causing the problems. I've not had any problems with the high res texture pack so far (I do run with the mod that fixes some problems with it).
