Cman91
Hi guys.I've got a few questions regarding the limitations of Creation Kit & also about what "work-arounds" I might need to consider.Bear in mind that I've not played with it much since I first need to know if it will be fit for purpose. If it'll work, I'll jump straight into it and learn the "know-hows".---The project that I have in mind will take place within a dungeon-styled environment, underground. The complicated aspects of my project include the following:- NPCs interacting with the player AND other NPCs at certain, given times.- Sounds/music taking place at certain, given times.- NPCs hosting facial animations whilst expressing feelings/emotions during dialogue.- Doors unlocking/locking or becoming so automatically after player passes specific checkpoints.Regarding the aspects mentioned above, are there any major limitations that I should know about?Do let me know if you would like for me to explain this in further detail, if need be. Thanks!
shavkacagarikia
No, no limitations regarding aspects you mentioned. The only problem may occur with facial animations as they don't look very realistic (But if you like emotions and feelings of vanilla game characters then no problem). Thuggysmurf
NPC scenes are buggy. Making advancement of a quest stage dependent on 2 NPC's interacting with each other is dicey. You'll get bug reports about broken quests. Sound/music triggers are reliable (they trigger) but not perfect on timing. Some tinkering with the priority levels is often necessary. If priority levels are wrong, there can be delays of over 30 seconds on a sound/music track triggering. The facial animations are arguably immersion-breaking. The locking/unlocking mechanism works fine. Good luck with your quest mod! Fallout 4 needs more of them!
