dinky2012
I tried out Open Cities when I found out about it. Went and visited Riften. Thought it was nice but I was worried about it breaking quests. I never saved while it was enabled. Reloaded my game. Plays for hoooouuuurrrrss. Now I finally get to Riften naturally. Start doingthe quest where you obtain the 3 Marks of Dibella from the 3 genltman the woman slept with. Well, I got all 3 Marks. Quest marker keeps telling me to leave Riften. I leave it the marker now says she is standing in the center of Riften while I'm outside the walls. I no clip over Riften to see half the population wondering around inside, guards and all. But I can't go in the buildings and a lot of the textures are see through. This would explain why I couldn't find the blacksmith while in-town. Is there anyway I can reset Riften, I guess, so it's back to normal? EDIT: The reason I ask is because the mod has been made private so I can't simply DL it again
Savan12986
As long as you only unsubscribed the mod should still be on your computer. In the skyrim launcher click data files and find the open cities esp file and click the check mark and you should be set
dinky2012
That's the thing. I was through the NMM. And I have quadruple checked my subscriptions, NMM, and the mods folder and there is nothing related to the Open Cities. I guess this is why he hid it. Because it can cause an unavoidable dependency regardless of it the game was ever saved with it on or not.
Savan12986
I just checked and it is currently available on steam workshop. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7320&searchtext=open+cities It seems the author took it down due to the navmesh bug and will not be releasing any updates until its fixed

deanyoungblood
I have the same problem. I was able to get MOST of the townsfolk trapped in RiftenX out by forcing them to be my follower and then fast travelling to Riften proper. But for the life of me I couldn't rescue Maven or Sapphire. I'm very frustrated! I started over when I first discovered the issue (deleted all mods and save games) only to find out the issue STILL persists. Anyone have any advice? It seems my only option at this point is to re-install the game. This sucks hard.
MShoap13
Sounds like Windows UAC might be messing with your game. It's been known to do strange stuff like you describe to Oblivion and the FO games. If you're on Vista/7, Steam (and therefore Skyrim) is installed in the default (C:\Program Files) location, and you're having problems with replacers or simply mods (plugins) not working at all, even though you've activated them in NMM, or mods refusing to deactivate, even though all of their files have been removed, then you most likely have a UAC problem. It is possible to turn off UAC though it's not recommended for the vast majority of Windows users. To get around UAC without turning it completely off you'll need to move Steam to a location UAC does not affect (C:\Games\ is a commonly used location). This will most likely break any 3rd party utilities such as NMM as it will leave old registry keys behind that point to the location you originally installed Skyrim in. If you come across this issue, you'll have to uninstall Skyrim, clean the old registry keys, reboot, then reinstall Skyrim. I personally recommend using Revo Uninstaller as if you uninstall Skyrim through it, it will automatically scan for and ask if you'd like to delete old registry keys. If you're interested in keeping your old mods, config files, and/or saved games, tips found in Bben's Oblivion Reinstall Procedure work for Skyrim as well.
