SSE Need 2nd NPC to respond to theif

I've set up an apothecary vendor who has various items on display on a shelf that can be bought. They are marked as stolen if the player doesn't go through the purchasing system with the vendor to acquire them. I'd like to set it up so that the apothecary's spouse will react/attack if items are stolen from the apothecary/vendor.

 

I've tried setting up their own crime faction, but nothing I try with that seems to work.

 

Any insights to this would be appreciated.
