tigerf117
I tried searching for this but all I could find were CTD related issues. I'm using the nexus mod manager. I have just reinstalled Windows and also decided to start over with my mods b/c I haven't played the game in over 2 months so my mods were all outdated. Anyways the ENB mod doesn't appear to do anything. I made a backup of my d3d9.dll and used the nexus mod manager to install the ENB mod I wanted. I also edited my skyrimprefs.ini per the instructions. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9738 (VR-ENB) That didn't do anything, so I tried a few others, uninstalling each previous mod before the others. No crashes, no loss in FPS, nothing at all. It doesn't seem the make any difference. RWT, UP body mod, clothes mods, etc all work fine in game. MShoap13
You have to install ENB series manually. NMM puts it in the \Skyrim\Data\ folder when it belongs in the \Skyrim\ folder.
tigerf117
That makes sense. Now the game CTD immediately upon launching. I will research this but if anyone has suggestions it would be appreciated.
tigerf117
I have since added the 2 helper dx9 files per the ENB website FAQ. Still CTD. Event viewer is coming back with d3d9.dll as a faulting module 0xc5 error.
tigerf117
It was afterburner that was causing the ENB to CTD crash to desktop. Hopefully this helps other people.
Musashi1313
It was afterburner that was causing the ENB to CTD crash to desktop. Hopefully this helps other people. It did! I've been looking for days to work out why this was happening. You've done some good work posting that, thanks.
stephenbellomy
I have the exact same issue. Main menu ctd when I try to load my game. Problem is, I am not running Afterburner (i dont even know what that is). I have seen that monitor tools conflict with the d3d9.dll but i have no idea if i am running one or not
