amirrezasepehr
So far I haven't seen anyone complain so I thought I'd make a topic on it. I use to get a wonderful 45-65fps outside in Skyrim on Ultra. 45fps for me is low in consideration of the fact that I paid $600 for the damn graphics card...and one day I saw the High Resolution Pack and got cocky. Thought to myself,"Hey it's not THAT hi-res like the Skyrim 2K HD pack, I should only lose like 5fps max." Dead wrong... :wallbash: So when I'm in Riften I get 30-45fps in the city. Before I'd get around 45-70. Now for the worst part...when I leave to go outside. 24-30fps. Seriously, am I the only one here who's having these problems? Here are the specs to my rig just to give you an idea of the PC I'm having the problems with:ASUS P8Z68-V ProMSi GTX 580 Lightning 1.5GBIntel i7 2600k G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GBLG Blueray PlayerKingston SSDNow V200 128GB SSD Western Digital 1TB HDCorsair HX 1050W Share me your stories with the DLC and tell me what you have done to fix it or remove the DLC altogether. RampagingGamer
I also got a heavy impact from the High Res DLC texture pack my FPS almost cut in half. To be honest, it is the texture pack not your computer, there are so many errors in the texturing and it has been poorly optimized for anything. To disable it unitck the High Res texture packs esp in data files (From the skyrim launch menu). You should use some of the high res packs here on skyrim nexus,
amirrezasepehr
It's still slow as hell. I'm just gonna delete Skyrim and redownload...*sigh*
BrknSoul
There's no need to reinstall Skyrim, just untick the DLC-added mods from the Launcher.
azaltan
Same issue here. Bethesta's DLC is a large texture pack (4.5 GB), much larger then HD 2K (2 GB). Probably, you need more then 1.5 gb of vram to run it flawlessly with maxed out settings at higher resolutions. Rex7Dragon95
if ya don't want the DLC tied to your steam account no more just ask steam support to tack it off your account. i did took about 10 hours to respond to it. the only reason i took it off was it keep crashing my game no mater what and random lag spicks plus i got tired of waiting for it to download the 3gigs each time i had to reinstall the game from the retail disk cus me internet is so slow Edited February 19, 2012 by Rex7Dragon95

With everything maxed out + Beths texure pack 1.5 vram would be stressed. A GTX590 or SLI'd 580's (3gb vram) will run you at 60fps inside, outside, upside down, any which way. I have 2 580's about 55 mods installed and get 60fps constant on steps at Whiterun. On steps at Markarth ouside Thanes home, I can find a couple of spots where it dips to 55-56 fps.
