New to Oblivion Mods and Tools

Well, I need to understand better how to use Wrye Bash and found that Tutorial with screenshots.

But can anyone please tell me in which order I should install the necessary files / patches so then I can use Wrye Bash as per its Tutorial? Specifically, do I install OBSE + loader before and then UOPatches , then BOSS, etc...? I mean basically the 1st 8 files that I dont know if the order matters.

Wrye Bash is the tool for installing mods, so you can install it first. OBSE is the script extender, and you need to install that one - as well as the updated loader - manually, and you cannot use Wrye Bash to do it. OBSE is not a normal mod. BOSS is an automated load order management tool, not a mod, either, and you cannot install it through Wrye Bash as far as I know? Never used it myself. :blush: The unofficial patches are normal mods, as is DarN UI and Oblivion Character Overhaul 2, and every other normal mod and you can install them through Wrye Bash just fine.

 

So you can install Wrye Bash, OBSE and BOSS manually in whichever order you want, as far as I know. They are the 'not normal mods' type. The rest of the mods look like normal mods that you can add to WB and install through that one. If you at some point decide to install Oblivion Stutter Remover (OSR), it already contains the FastExit feature.

 

Did Wrye Bash allow installing OBSE plugin .dll files by default? Does anyone remember? :huh:

 

The Standalone Executable version of Wrye Bash is also enough. It is just a matter of extracting it to wherever you want it, and running the executable in the "Mopy" folder. Maybe editing the bash.ini (copy+rename the default one) to change some paths if you want. You do not need both installer and standalone, as far as I know.
