A Special Request

Is it possible to create a Mod or a skript, that allows the Player to import his Character back from Golems of Amgarrak and Wichhunt into Awakening or maybe into Origins? It's just sad to see a char, that got a lot of awesome Weapons and Armors but no one there to use them and after completing Witchhunt, your Char was at the End of his / her long journey and could only be used as a sidepart for DA2.

That really bothered me so I decided to ask the community if someone else chares my opinion. :ohdear:

Just think of it: Every Mage can wear the Best Staff and clothing, every Warrior can wear the best Armor and Weapon and so every Rouge can.

And in the front row is your main character, with the highest level and the best equipment.

The Enemy will cry for that Godlike Cheat. Just think of it, your Char back to the Roots and start with all your new Equipment from the Very First Step , that he / she took.

That would be the best Mod for Dragon Age ever! :woot:

I do know there's been discussion about this on the BSN.

And AFAIK, there is absolutely no way to "import" an already existing character into DA:O. The game just isn't designed to handle that event.

As for as doing so in the later DLC campaigns that do have the Char Import function, it is technically just barely possible, if you're willing and able to hak your saved game to change the internally stored version number. The import function only recognizes saves from "earlier" ones in the series.

And one would have to ensure that any later "game-specific" gear was correctly imported as well as a separate step, and one that the player would have to handle since it would depend an exactly what that gear was. (Although I guess one could design a utility that just made all the DLC-completion stuff compatible with all versions. Still would need to be installed as a separate action...)

Lastly, after you complete GoA (on Nightmare) every character starts the new game with the "Reaper's Cudgel", worth 339gp (or even 679gp, if a Dwarf Noble is selling it to Gorim in Origins.) With that much gold to start the game, it's easy to get all the "good gear" you need!

Not sure if I understand what you're asking.

Yes, you can switch back and forth between all of the "Campaigns" as much as you like. And you can play them in any order you want, and hop back and forth between them at will. Just be aware of which PC you're using and the restrictions on importing one at the start of a game. (Can't go "backwards in time" with any single character.) But as long as you don't care about continuing with the same character from campaign-to-campaign, then you can start each game with a generic "Warden" rather than importing a previous one.

There is, however, a specific order in which they are designed to be played if you're going to take a single character through as "The Warden" for the entire set.

The unofficially-official chronology for a single PC is as follows:

  • DA:O 12-24 months, (maybe longer, if the time needed to accomplish TSP, RTO, and WK is to be accounted for?)
It begins in the 30th year of "the Dragon Age" (so "9:30 Dragon".)
    • TSP any time (after the Warden has left Lothering) within the period of DA:O.
    • RTO any time (after the Warden has left Lothering) within the period of DA:O.
    • WK any time (after the Warden has left Lothering) within the period of DA:O.

[*]DA:A approx 6-months after end of DA:O, lasts maybe 3-6 months (so approx. "9:31 or 32 Dragon".)

[*]GoA indeterminate, but bounded by: Internal reference at the start places it after DA:A, and it's probably before WH.

[*]WH only takes a few weeks, around 1-2 years after the end of DA:A (so approx. "9:32, 33, or 34 Dragon".)

[*]LS over 2 years before DA:O (so approx. "9:28 Dragon".)

Side Note: DA2 Must begin before the sacking of Lothering (Hawke family escapes just ahead of the horde) and after Battle of Ostagar, (Avaline was there) and covers for approx. 10 years, so "9:30 - 40 Dragon".

And as noted previously, I don't discuss "The DLC Which Must Not Be Named."
