SoulofChrysamere
My legs and feet hurt, it pains me to walk, and so I am sitting most of the time as of right now (and yes, I'm going to see the doctor). While in a chair for a while, I wrote this off the top of my head (over the period of two days). Enjoy. The warmth moves right on past the landAnd autumn's nip now grips the treesAs they form their rustling bandAnd waver gently in the breeze. But merriment enjoy's scarce timeAs icy snaps devour someAnd evergreens do mourn their kindAs they obey the frosty hum. Throughout the days, they wither downAnd their green dons sensual dyesThat flicker in dusk's solemn frownTo hug and kiss the human eyes. And finally, the air endowsA tree with cycles ran each yearAnd the pillar's brooding boughsShed at last, a cherry tear. The others go to chase their friendAnd leave their homes to overlayThe rocky ground so they can sendA message cheerful, blithe, and gay. Through prodding gusts, the leafy sprites,Rainbowed with such vibrant skins,Tumble down through addled lightsTo their lowly, earthen ends. And as they land, they newly craftA crispy carpet some like to treadThat's scattered 'round by the Fall's draftLeaving stragglers in its stead. And so the earth bequeaths her prayer,Curls up, and bids the winter showAnd when it leaves, spring makes her fairAs brisk rains spawn floral glow.
