bennyiNO
I got the krosis mask and I can make flawless glass stuff but I can only improve the mask to exquisite. what is the problem? thank you in advance
chanchan05
Because you have perks for glass/elven etc to level them up twice as good. You don't have perks for the dragon masks. You need to use potions and equip that enhance smithing.
eltucu
All Dragon Priest masks require daedric smithing in vanilla Skyrim for some reason. So the actual material of the mask is irrelevant.
chanchan05
Even the light armor ones? I haven't noticed.
eltucu
Yep http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Artifacts#Dragon_Priest_Masks Tempering column. Im not sure if some of Headbomb's mods changed that (Crafting Overhaul or Weapon and Armor fixes), i'll have to check but i doubt it since they're pretty powerful items so it is expected that they're hard to enhance. If you could temper Krosis without perks anyone could have unmatched legendary end game equipment at level 30 or so lol Edited February 20, 2012 by eltucu
bennyiNO
It's weird that light armor masks need daedric smithing but thank you anyway. now that I think of it dragon masks should be dragon smithing but the games weird so.... lool
eltucu
Yeah you're right. First for the dragon themed thing and second cuz Dragon Smithing perk can be reached from both Heavy and Light smithing branches of the perk tree. Requiring Daedric for a masks like Volsung and Krosis, wich are perfect for thieves, assassins and every light armor user is kinda stupid cuz you'd need to spend like 5 perks into heavy armor smithing just for the masks (the daedric weapons are a plus but requiring dragon smithing is more a one-size-fits-all solution).
