Interceptor Body Armor - Combat Armor Replacement or Armorsmith Crafting

I have been looking for a low profile military looking version of combat armor that looks better than the vanilla eyesore. I have combed all the modding sites and struck out on finding something I liked. What I was looking for is something like the Interceptor Body Armor used by the US Armed Forces. It seems that combat armor mods mostly utilize the vanilla assets.

 

The closest I found was an unreleased armor on a dead mod called Wasteland Grunts, a really great mod but no updates in over a year. I am wondering if someone would be up for the challenge of making the Interceptor Armor that replaces combat armor or standalone in armorsmith.

 

An ideal mod for this would be to have various sizes available with camo patterns like Primez or CDantes All Camo uniforms. Nothing complicated like canteens and accessories just the armor plain and simple balanced to vanilla combat armor stats. Does anyone know of a mod like that?

try modern firearms. it has a pretty good model for an armor vest. they call it 'dragonskin'. dragonskin was an armor program that never made production. I think I remember it 'under-performed'. it's similar to IBA, has mag pouches, a canteen, some shotgun shells, and a couple misc pouches.

I remember hearing about dragon skin under performing and there seemed to be a bit of controversy over the decision.

in the tests shown on programs like Future Weapons dragon skin stood up to everything they threw at it, including a grenade at point blank range.
