MuhammadJA
Hi, I want to make a quick and simple mod. I want to make .308 ammo the default one for the Combat Rifle and want to add it to enemies leveled list. Which file to data in the Fallout4.esm to edit? I know there are mods out there like the one I want but almost all of them edit the Combat Rifle's damage or weight someway or another.
Moldy
For your own personal use,I'd imagine you can use FO4Edit to make the change. It's just a simple matter of identifying the correct field and references. Considering that they're clearly labelled, especially if you reference a weapon natively chambered in .308,this should be child's play. If you have multiple mods that make edits to the Combat Rifle,FO4Edit has a near colour coding system that's easy to understand, and explained in the program itself (Click around the tabs; You'll find it),you'll be able to easily find what fields from what mods win conflicts, meaning you can do this for yourself without breaking anything. Then again,Fallout 4's in-depth weapon construction system might make this incredibly more complicated than I assume. And,of course, before using FO4Edit to make tweaks,do your homework, and read up on things. And make a backup of your entire installation; This is,after all,code-level work. MuhammadJA
OK, I succeeded in changing the Combat Rifle's ammo. I tried, however, to change the Hunting Rifle's default ammo to .50. I even added it to the leveled list but the enemies always respawn with .308 for the hunting rifle. Was there something I'm missing?
MuhammadJA
Never mind. It respawned.
