Surilindur
I play the Steam version of the game on a fully updated Windows 10 without any issues, actually. I even use Mod Organizer on top of that. Well, sort of play, mainly testing my mod projects, I need to finish them all before I start a new playthrough. But it is always equally baffling to find out how others have not managed to even launch the game. And the fact that I have no issues whatsoever myself only makes it more difficult to guess why the game fails to launch for someone. Have you checked the Event Viewer? If I remember correctly (currently on my laptop, with Linux, hehe), there should be an "Event Viewer" option in the list when you right-click the start menu icon in the taskbar. In the Event Viewer, there should somewhere be a section with "Applications", "Security", "Setup" and such items listed in it. One of those lists contains application errors, marked with red error symbols. You could try looking there for anything related to Oblivion Launcher. If you find errors that seem to be connected to you launching Oblivion from Steam, you could try launching it again and seeing if a new error like the ones you have found appears. You could then check what it was that failed (faulting module, something like that) and if there is any more info on the error there. Edit: You can have the game almost anywhere you want. It is just that having it inside one of the Program Files directories could sometimes cause some issues. Windows treats those folders somehow differently, for security reasons, but it is sometimes a nuisance, too, especially if trying to mod a game. Not always, but sometimes. I have my game in F:\SteamLibrary\ like all my other Steam games. You can have it on either C or D. Edited June 27, 2017 by Contrathetix
GeorgeLF
So, i installed Oblivion Today (D Drive), and as expected the same problem with the launcher again. I checked the event viewer and i could not find anything related to Oblivion. Because there is no error message i think windows doesn't register nothing there. I click play ,Steam loads, then nothing happens. There is no messages, nothing. A few weeks ago my game was working, this is way i don't understand, i haven't changed anything. Is there like a substitute for the launcher ? or a mod, anything that bypasses the launcher and make OBSE works ?. At this point i have no idea what to do anymore.
