Aoikani
I may be wrong in assuming that there are some annoying bogus uploaders frequently uploading "nothing" to TESNEXUS, but If it is the case can't anyone or something be done about PERMANENTLY banning that ISP address ? bben46
Report the bogus uploaders to the administrators on the Feedback, Suggestions and Questions topic. They will take care of it.
Alaisiagae
I may be wrong in assuming that there are some annoying bogus uploaders frequently uploading "nothing" to TESNEXUS, but If it is the case can't anyone or something be done about PERMANENTLY banning that ISP address ?Yes, I've noticed this too. I think the uploaders just want to make their mods more visible, so that if someone clicks on the Updates Recently/Today/Latelty pages, their mod will be there. Seems kind of harsh to ban the ISP, but I have to agree that minor/insignificant changes to the descriptions page are annoying. Iona has been uploading much-needed screenshots for mods the past week or so, that isn't bogus.
LoginToDownload
I made the mistake of doing a readme in Word, and probably "updated" about four times getting rid of the annoying squares, so I guess it's sort of my fault as well... Seems it might be a good idea to stop changes to the file-attributes bringing your mod up onto the updated files, and bogus uploading for visibility can count as a forum-strike (Or ban for continued use from the entire site, not just the forum). buddah
Any file modification, image, file, description, short description or changing catagories will show up on the recent update list....even someone else putting up a screenshot will do it. Therefore any file activity is ignored as being essential, and not spam. The bogus uploads, hit the report button (either on the forum or the file page) and they will be dealt with....usually a file open to public viewing without a good explanation or a file within 48 hours of listing or it is just deleted as a waste of assets of the site. Uploading images that have no merit to the file will also be deleted as spam. Harmful files or repeated waste of assets.....insta ban, we take the security and safety of our members quite seriously. Buddah IP bans are out of the realm of possibilities for the most part.....even an old fart like me knows how to route through a couple of proxy servers to hide my real IP, also I can force an IP change anytime I want to, and I usually log in on several different connections every day. Alaisiagae
Uploading images that have no merit to the file will also be deleted as spam.Oh, yes, I have seen several of these. Some of them contain nudity, which is kinda sad because it has nothing to do with the mod, it is just someone showing off their "hot imprl grrl savgame" character (example in the user uploaded images for this mod: Halcyon Island). Or take, for instance, [edit] a certain user's[/edit] screenshots; the user uploads, like, 30 + images of the character holding the weapon in different positions, when all that is needed is a 3rd person and 1st person shot and a shot of the weapon on the ground. Tamujiin
I agree with Buddah, But Like nudity, people are going to do it. why? I dont know...Its a cryout for attention. They have no idea what goes into something like maitaning a web sight with thousands of files and images. They just think that if they post something they'll be "cool" to there friends. Its a childish thing. BUT, you also need to understand there are "old guys" out there that just make a mistake or something and need to change it. Or they acidentally post something twice. Mistakes happen and in the view of things they might seem to be "bogus" uploads. praise the moderators for there work here.
LoginToDownload
I'm not sure a cry for attention or seeming "cool" applies to the above situations, or the wish for your mod to get more exposure.
stephanie
I agree with einhander888 .. nude screenshots have no place in a mod's images .. unless the 'mod' is a body mod, and even then they're not really necessary. It is 'childish' .. and sad.
Tamujiin
Thats exactly why "immature kids" do something. " I want my mod to do good!" therefore they'll try to give it good exposure and waste space here. This site i am pretty sure wasn't made for "kids" to post junk. Although it might have been made for "kids" to post something good. And in terms of kids i dont mean age. I mean maturity. I am a big kid when it comes to games. But i know the difference between posting something good and wasting space with junk. I think that is what this topic is about.
