How to create a Category Entry ?

Hello guys...

Was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction here.

Is it possible to create a new menu entry in the crafting tools - forge/workbench/skinning rack/cook pot/grindstone

ex:

Craft station = Forge

- Hide

- leather

- etc

- (New Entry)

Has anybody done this or know how?

Would be very grateful for any help

Cheers!

I'm not really the person to be answering this as I've not really looked into the scripting side of the CK yet but from basic logic I would garner, supposing the crafting UI is simply created via a standard text box prompt in game (i.e. it's not been created in the same way as the main UI which the CK has no support for.) you should be able to alter the crafting menu via accessing a forge's script.

In the CK go to somewhere like the cell in whiterun that has the forge and select it then bring up the scripting page, open the script and have a peek at it. From reading this tutorial on CK.com you can see what you'd be looking for to simply add text to it, but actually adding a working menu option that responds to events and alters variables is another story all together. I'd take some time reading and going through the papyrus scripting tutorials on CK.com before attempting anything like that.

Hope this helped, I'm half shooting the dark, but that's what I'd do if I wanted to look into what you're doing.

Edit: Actually, thinking about it, The crafting UI is the same as the menu UI which is created with flash (iirc) so you'd need a third party flash platform to make any alterations to menu's. errrr... actually lol, if you're simply 'adding' a new option you might still actually be able to do it via scripting as it may place a text variable on the menu using the ingrained elements/resources within the menu via a script anyway.

To be honest your best option is to contact the creator of SKYUI and speak with him about how to best go about what you're trying to do.

Good luck!
