Ohmydoddtv
Using the Creation Kit I have made a quest that seems to work perfectly fine, apart from the markers on the compass that tell the player where to go aren't there, any reason why? Deleted2628341User
I'm having the same issue, I've created the reference aliases in the Quest Alias tab and set them as compass marker references but they don't show up in-game.
LukeH
Did you assigned your aliases as targets in the objectives tab? http://www.creationkit.com/Quest_Objectives_Tab
Deleted2628341User
Yeah, and conditions have been assigned to those aliases, still nothing. The first stage has an XMarker assigned to an alias as it's supposed to direct the player to a specific location (I've also tried using a door, a trigger and a moveable static object.) Still nothing. The second stage should show two compass markers, one for each unique NPC, but those don't work either.
LukeH
Did you set the stages to display objectives? Usually you do that from the stage script fragment with http://www.creationkit.com/Quest.SetObjectiveDisplayed_%28Papyrus%29 Stages and objectives are completely different things. ZackDW
one problem i had with this, is that you cannot use an old save once you start adding quest objectives. they will not show up. you will need to start from a new char via "COC youlevelid"
Deleted2628341User
Did you set the stages to display objectives? Usually you do that from the stage script fragment with http://www.creationk...d_%28Papyrus%29 Stages and objectives are completely different things. The way I have my quest scripted is an individual object or trigger will set the stage and display the objective when interacted with. For example, the quest is started when someone picks up a specific book, the script on that book sets the beginning stage of the quest and displays the objective. In the quest settings I have a reference set as the objective target for that particular stage. Do I need to change that around so in the stage fragment it displays the objective? I would think it wouldn't make a difference, but if it does then I'll need to go back and change some of the scripting. The quest works perfectly otherwise... Thanks! LukeH
Should make no difference from where you call it, I just sayed that usually it's set from there. If you can't find anything else it may be worth a test with the script fragment...
Deleted2628341User
They're actually working now... I think I may have forgotten to activate the quest in the menu, but I could've sworn on the initial save that it wasn't working at all. In any case, everything is all fine and good with my quest, thanks for the help, hopefully the OP got their issues straightened out.
