HaydnShaw
Hey people, I had a mod proposition I left with another Fallout modding community (in respect of this forum I won't mention said community's name or website) but basically I wanted to do a typical "Dead Drop" questline. This questline would be a bit like the Dark Brotherhood quests you recieve in Oblivion as kind of "distractions" to pave the way to the main storyline. In this questline I propose to do, it would be little different in that respect. You see, the dead drops are "distractions" for the player that solely exist as a form of training for the player for what's to come and entertainment for the mysterious employer. I haven't began working on the mod (Yet!) but I had some ideas for it. Just want to know if you guys are game with this sort of thing. So first of all, there's the characters. -The Employer-The suspicious NCR private-The strange man The employer is the person who hires you to do jobs, in order to relieve his boredom. He will often leave red herrings to implicate the NCR trooper as the actual employer, Later on in the quest he will also ask you to kill the strange man. The suspicious NCR private, on the other hand, is also in the employ of the player's mysterious man in the shadows, and will often appear at places where the player is sent to assassinate people and will so encounter the player "on accident", the NCR private is also very timid and nervous in nature and will often say things to throw the player off the employer's trail. Somewhere along the questline he will be killed in plain sight leaving the player to believe (if they were paying attention) that their employer has died. The employer will also suggest in his dead drop. The strange man is an idea i'm toying with, but not sure if it's one I want to keep. Basically, at a young age, the courier became seperated from their biological father. This man is that same person. He is an old marksman with a unique sniper rifle, the one of which will cause phantoms to appear at times of need when it's in use. The player will get this somewhere along the quest. The employer will tell you not to talk to him in order to recieve a bonus, but if you do talk to him, you can ask the strange man about his son/daughter, he will simply reply (I lost him/her). Now for the questline. Basically after completing steps and deciding the town's fate in Primm you will recieve an appropriate response based on the actions you did. For the most part, the employer will seem impressed by your handiwork and will ask you to collect a job if you are interested. The catch? He hired someone just as efficient to handle the same job, and you have to kill your competitor to get the first job. After getting rid of the competitor, you will recieve caps up front, and will be tasked with killing several people, some being generic faction members, others being vanilla NPCs, including President Kimball (quite late in the questline). You will also be tasked with breaking into the Gomorrah vault, and planting explosives in conspicious locations, and planting marked NCR bills in the Gomorrah vault. To make the quests interesting, just like the dark brotherhood you will get bonuses for completing a job according to a certain criteria, in president Kimball's case, you actually have to go up to him in a business suit and stab him square in the chest with a knife, of which you will be penalised by a large amount if you kill him any other way. Caesar's snipers will still be there to assassinate Kimball as well. After finishing the quests, you will be asked after a short while to meet up with your employer, and he will ask you to come alone and meet in a remote location at night. Anyone think this is a bad idea?
