Help! Custom Music...

Recommended Posts

Hello. I am making a custom music mod (for myself), and I put the music I wanted into the appropriate folders. Except it does not play.

Is there a special way to do this or what? Please help!

Thank you for your time. :thanks:

Sincerely,

If you have music in your dungeon, battle, explore, public folders, it will play randomly from those folders when you're in a place where that music is being used. You may however need to rename them, or make sure they are MP3 format to work.

If this is in relation to the streammusic function, the function sucks, and is virtually useless for anything beyond playing a special music once while in a shop. It will reset to normal once you change areas, and there is no internal option for looping. Even using a "getsecondspassed" to manually make it loop is unreliable at best (there can still be periods of overlap or where a default music plays for a few seconds), and still ends up breaking upon area change, opening the menu.

Yes, they are in MP3 format, and I have them in the respective Battle/Public/Explore/Dungeon folders, it's just that they won't play. What do I need to re-name them?

You might try also removing the original OB music if you are trying to get just your music to play. I have quite a number of different songs in my folders, including a new level-up theme, and it's true they kind of just play randomly when you go through the different areas, but you shouldn't have to rename them or anything. Hope I'm not misunderstanding what you're asking, if you're trying to use an in-game music player or something then I have no idea, sorry.

A cheap and easy fix is to give your music the names of the music the game already plays, then just copy the default music to another folder to save it. Doing this will ensure your music plays because the default music wont be there any more, so choosing randmly, it has to choose yours!

Yes. I did that,

I've figured it out now. I think. I just have to change the rate that the music plays at for it to play in Oblivion (it's too fast).

I will post here if I have anymore problems.

Thank you all! :thanks:

Cheers,
