Brinemobee
I was thinking & thought of some possible epic mods to really use up a lot of surplus stuff & increase the difficulty I was thinking that WHen you sharpen your weapon on a grindstone, that the effect & power is limited to a number of uses, it would basically add a 'repair' function to weapons & possibly armour so you craft a weapon, sharpen it which gives it 'superior' & =7 attack or what ever, but as you use the weapon , the sharpening becomes 'exellent' then 'fine' until eventually its back to its original, meaning that you have to sharpen your weapons, and i also think that NPC's should have different sharpened weapons. & i also think that different Smiths could sharpen your weapons for you, for gold, or that different forges have different quality whetstones, so that it would matter where you were. Different materials could differ in how quickly they decay, so ebony, deadric, & skyforge would decay slower then iron, etc. May be when you reach master level Smith this effect is further dulled. I think that what you use the weapon for would vary the effect, so hitting a shield would detract more then hitting a person or blade, Shields & armour could have the same principle, I would like to throw out the idea of 'breaking' armour but i dont know if that is possible, or worthwhile, im not a coder but i imagine that editing the values of a pre existing element would be easier then creating and defining a new one. but hell, what do i know. And if a mod like this already exists then please link me up, and if you decide this is good, & worth the effort, then please let me stay updated & contribute ideas :) Anyway let me know what you all think about this idea. i feel it has potential ThanksBrinemobee
Brinemobee
Here are some more ideas, these are i think more undoable then those above, Deconstructing armour or weapons to base items, at location, i always hated having to lug loads of random armour about, it was a immersion breaker for me, so i figure, that you should, rather then get the whole armour, get some of its componants, so that there is an element of luck involved, so a steel cuiress might give '3leather strips' 'steel shards' 'Hide/Pelt' and other materials, that you would then have to take back to a smith to create the leather, steel etc to reforge the item, but these items would be used to repair your weapons & armour as you go, & maybe there is a handheld whetstone that you could take with you, that can re sharpen your weapon, but not as well as a smithy's could. anyway as above, let me know what you think
